Longer days and warmer temperatures have kids and parents alike thinking about vacation plans and summer activities. Students in the class of 2025 will finish their studies and celebrate their achievements several days before the other students in their districts begin their summer breaks. With about a dozen days of instruction remaining at most local schools, the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune compiled a list of graduation dates and the last day of school for school districts in the Wisconsin Rapids area. Wood County home listings asked for more money in April - see the current median price here
The median home in Wood County listed for $280,900 in April, up 6% from the previous month's $264,900, an analysis of data from shows. Compared to April 2024, the median home list price increased 16.5% from $241,025. The statistics in this article only pertain to houses listed for sale in Wood County, not houses that were sold. The price per square foot of homes for sale is down 3.1% from April 2024. Listings in Wood County moved briskly, at a median 35 days listed compared to the April national median of 50 days on the market. In the previous month, homes had a median of 38 days on the market. Around 84 homes were newly listed on the market in April, a 6.7% decrease from 90 new listings in April 2024. The median home prices issued by may exclude many, or even most, of a market's homes. In Wisconsin, median home prices were $397,000, a slight increase from March. The median Wisconsin home listed for sale had 5,572 square feet, with a price of $0.1 per square foot. Throughout the United States, the median home price was $431,250, a slight increase from the month prior. The median American home for sale was listed at 467,514 square feet, with a price of $0.18 per square foot. The median home list price used in this report represents the midway point of all the houses or units listed over the given period of time. Experts say the median offers a more accurate view of what's happening in a market than the average list price, which would mean taking the sum of all listing prices then dividing by the number of homes sold. The average can be skewed by one particularly low or high price.
