The Wisconsin State Patrol received a driving complaint about a maroon SUV that was unable to maintain a lane or speed. Upon speaking with the driver, the trooper noticed signs of impairment and an investigation ensued. DANE COUNTY - A 28-year-old Wausau woman was arrested by Wisconsin State Patrol on Thursday, May 29 for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 7th offense with two children in the vehicle. What we know The Wisconsin State Patrol received a driving complaint about a maroon SUV that was unable to maintain a lane or speed. A Wisconsin State Trooper located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Wildlife crossing highway sparks three-vehicle crash that kills SUV driver

A driver was killed in a three-vehicle collision sparked by wildlife crossing a highway in western Wisconsin on Friday. The crash was reported around 3:25 p.m. on Highway 35 south of 210th Avenue near Milltown, where northbound traffic "slowed due to wildlife crossing the highway." As the traffic slowed, a northbound pickup truck swerved to avoid rear-ending the vehicles ahead, struck a vehicle, "glanced off" and went into southbound traffic. There, it struck an SUV head-on, killing the SUV driver. The pickup truck driver had non-life threatening injuries and the driver of the vehicle that was glanced had minor injuries. The name of the deceased driver will be released at a later date. The crash remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Polk County Medical Examiner.

‘Click it or Ticket:' Wisconsin State Patrol to step up seat belt enforcement

(WFRV) – Authorities with the Wisconsin State Patrol say they, and other law enforcement agencies throughout Wisconsin, will be stepping up seat belt enforcement, especially during Memorial Day weekend. According to a release, more than 2,100 people who do not wear a seat belt while in a vehicle end up injured each year. In 2024, officials say there were 175 deaths throughout the state in which a crash victim was not wearing their seat belt. SWAT arrests Wisconsin man wanted for child neglect, theft, and more With that in mind, the Wisconsin State Patrol announced it is once again running its 'Click It or Ticket' campaign. BELOIT, Wis. (WFRV) – A 17-year-old boy is fighting for his life in the hospital after accidentally being shot by a 15-year-old. According to the Beloit Police Department, officers responded to a report of an accidental shooting shortly after 11 p.m. on Wednesday in the 1700 block of Park Avenue. Wisconsin once again ranks first in United States for Spring 2025 Drug Take Back A preliminary investigation revealed a 15-year-old had accidentally fired a gun and shot the 17-year-old boy, who was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
