Austrian man rushed to hospital after drug package ruptures inside his body
BANGKOK: An Austrian man had to undergo surgery after a drug package burst inside his intestines at a Bangkok airport on Wednesday.
According to The Bangkok Post, the man, identified as Wolfgang Gantner, 43, was rushed to Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital after experiencing convulsions and severe abdominal pain.
The news outlet reported that medical examinations revealed three packages in his intestinal tract, one of which had ruptured.
A CT scan detected several round objects in his intestines, believed to be illicit drugs.
Police confirmed to the outlet that the 255 red pills recovered were methamphetamine tablets.
