Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Recently released WWE Superstar Kayden Carter has publicly addressed her departure from the company. Carter, along with her long-time tag team partner Katana Chance, was among the 17 talents let go by WWE on May 2, 2025. Taking to Twitter, Carter shared a heartfelt statement reflecting on her journey and expressing gratitude. She began, "From watching on the other side of the barricade at NXT to being in the ring getting to live my dream I am beyond thankful to WWE, coworkers, coaches, everyone behind the scenes and everyone who I was able to share a ring with.." Looking ahead, Carter conveyed optimism, adding, "This is definitely not the end, and thank you to all the fans who stayed along for the journey, I look forward to see what my future holds!" More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation She captioned her post with the date "August 1, 2025," indicating when she will officially become a free agent. Carter's last televised WWE match was on the April 4th episode of SmackDown, where she and Chance competed in a Women's Tag Team Championship #1 contender's gauntlet match, which Bayley and Lyra Valkyria ultimately won. Following this match, Carter had notably reposted several fan tweets that were critical of her team's booking. Known initially as Lacey Lane upon signing with WWE in July 2018, Carter made an early impact in the Mae Young Classic. Her WWE career became most prominently defined by her dynamic and successful tag team with Katana Chance. OTTAWA, CANADA - JULY 8: Kayden Carter, Lyra Valkyria and Katana Chance enter the arena during Monday Night RAW at Canadian Tire Centre on July 8, 2024 in Ottawa, Ontario. WWE/Getty Images Together, they achieved historic success in NXT, winning the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship in August 2022 and holding the titles for a record-setting 186 days. Drafted to Raw in 2023, Carter and Chance continued their momentum, capturing the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship in December 2023, making them the first team to have held both the NXT and main roster women's tag titles. After a 39-day reign, they were moved to SmackDown in early 2025 before their eventual release, concluding a significant chapter in WWE's women's tag team division. This may be just a situation where WWE felt Carter was not progressing the way they would like at this stage in her career. The fact remains that Carter is very talented and should have no problem finding work on the independents or in other promotions once her non-compete clause is up. Becky Lynch Takes Major Shot at Hulk Hogan Following Comparison Remarks
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Becky Lynch has delivered a scathing response to online fan comparisons, labeling her "Becky Hogan. " She forcefully rejected the nickname and used harsh words for the WWE Hall of Famer himself. The comparisons emerged following Lynch's controversial actions around WrestleMania 41, where she returned to replace a storyline-injured Bayley, won and quickly lost the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles with Lyra Valkyria, and turned heel by attacking Valkyria. Some fans drew parallels to controversial moments in Hulk Hogan's career, suggesting Lynch had unfairly taken the spotlight and championship. Lynch addressed these memes directly on WWE's "Raw Recap" show this past Monday and expressed indignation. "I wear the scars of what I've done on my body. I wear them with pride because of all I've given back," Lynch stated, referencing her physical sacrifices for the wrestling business. "And these people go around, they compare me to the scummiest person on Earth after everything I've done, after everything that I've done for them? I'm supposed to sit here and take it." LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - APRIL 20: Becky Lynch is introduced before her match with Lyra Valkyria for the Women's Tag Team Championship against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez during WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium on April 20, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada More Lynch's strong condemnation of Hogan likely stems from his highly publicized 2015 controversy. Leaked audio transcripts revealed Hogan repeatedly using racial slurs, leading WWE to terminate his contract and remove him from the Hall of Fame. Although Hogan issued public apologies and was reinstated by WWE three years later, the incident remains a significant stain on his legacy. Hogan himself has since referred to the scandal as a "speed bump." More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation In addition to rejecting the Hogan comparison, Lynch also pushed back against perceived double standards from fans telling her to step aside for younger talent. "Look at the men's division," Lynch argued. "Who you got that's hot and young over there? No, you've got a bunch of old lads. And nobody's saying nothing. Nobody's saying, 'Move over CM Punk, move over Seth Rollins'. Nobody's saying that but they'll say it to me. So, who's the bad guy? Why am I supposed to move over?" This fiery defense sets the stage for Lynch's upcoming challenge against Lyra Valkyria for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship this Saturday at WWE Backlash in St. Louis, adding personal animosity to their developing rivalry.
