Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh team made a remarkable impact on day three of the Khelo India Beach Games , particularly in the mallakhamb and pencak silat events. MP won five medals including a gold in the Games so far. The inaugural Khelo India Beach Games at Ghoghla Island, Diu, is showing promising competition across various sporting disciplines. The event, scheduled from May 19 to 24, 2025, has drawn talented athletes from across India. A 50-member squad is participating from MP in the Games. The Khelo India Beach Games continue to showcase exceptional sporting talent across multiple disciplines. The picturesque Ghoghla Island provides an ideal backdrop for these competitive events, where athletes are demonstrating remarkable skill and determination. In the mallakhamb Women's Team Championship, the competition was incredibly close. Madhya Pradesh secured the silver medal with 80.5 points, narrowly missing gold to Chhattisgarh, who scored 80.6 points. Maharashtra claimed the bronze with 78.5 points. The men's pyramid championship saw Madhya Pradesh clinch gold with an impressive 28.50 points, while Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu followed with silver and bronze, respectively. In the Regu Team Event, the Madhya Pradesh trio of Vishakha Kol, Pinky Kol, and Anushree Kushwaha secured bronze. The Solo Individual Event saw Disha Reddy from Madhya Pradesh claim silver, while the Individual Tunggal competition resulted in Bhumika Jain securing another silver medal for the state. Sports minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang's congratulations to the medallists boosted team morale.
