Congress leader Rahul Gandhi pays tribute to Ahilyabai Holkar on her 300th birth anniversary
New Delhi [India], May 31 (ANI): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday paid tribute to Ahilyabai Holkar on her 300th birth anniversary. He called her a symbol of public service, an example of woman power and welfare governance. Taking to social media, X, Rahul Gandhi, wrote, 'Respectful tributes to Ahilyabai Holkar ji, a symbol of public service, an example of woman power and welfare governance, on her 300th birth anniversary.' 'Her life dedicated to justice and sacrifice is an inspiration for all of us today,' the post further reads. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tribute to Ahilyabai Holkar during the 'Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Mahila Sashaktikaran Mahasammelan' programme, at Jamburi Maidan in Bhopal. PM Modi attended an exhibition in Bhopal that chronicles Ahilyabai Holkar's life, works, and contributions to Indian society and culture. During the program, Madhya Pradesh governor Mangubhai Patel welcomed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi by offering him a portrait of Devi Ahiyabai Holkar and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav felicitated him by putting a special Turban on his forehead. Additionally, several women from various fields also felicitated the Prime Minister at the programme on the occasion. Also, Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma attended the 'Women Empowerment Conference' in Jaipur, which was organised on the occasion of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar's 300th birth anniversary. Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar is remembered for her people-centric policies and deep commitment to economic and socio-cultural issues, especially those that affected women's lives. She encouraged women's education and participation in the social and religious life of the local community. She also supported and encouraged women weavers to make Maheshwari sarees. Her contributions were wide-ranging, from infrastructure development (water bodies, roads, dharamshalas) to reconstruction and revival of temples across the length and breadth of the land. The edifices she created have not only left an indelible mark on India's cultural and spiritual landscape but also stood the test of time. (ANI)

Union Minister Nadda and Chief Minister Sharma also flagged off the 150 Kalika units on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. Addressing the event, Nadda said that India has underwent a positive change in the last 10 years. Praising Rajasthan Chief Minister, the Union Minister stated that CM Sharma along with his team is working day and night for the welfare of the state. "Op Sindoor has not stopped, will continue as long as Pakistan's intentions are wrong": JP Nadda
Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], May 31 (ANI): Union Minister JP Nadda said on Saturday that Operation Sindoor has not ended yet and will continue as long as Pakistan's 'intentions are wrong'. The Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, mostly tourists. The Union Minister also expressed gratitude to the Indian defence forces on the stupendous success of Operation Sindoor. 'We destroyed 9 terror bases in 22 minutes. The country feels proud and safe and is standing on new dimensions under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We thank PM Modi. We congratulate the Indian defence forces and their valour. Operation Sindoor has not stopped. As long as Pakistan's intentions are wrong, it will continue; we will keep giving it the right answer. Women arrive in huge numbers for PM Modi's 'Mahila Sashaktikaran Mahasammelan' programme in Bhopal
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 31 (ANI): A huge number of women have begun gathering at Jamboree Maidan in Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mahila Sashaktikaran Mahasammelan' (Women Empowerment Conference) programme on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar on Saturday. The women are seen in traditional yellow and sindoori (vermilion-coloured) sarees, waiting to attend the landmark event after the success of Operation Sindoor, which was the country's military retaliation to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. State minister Krishna Gaur said that the entire Madhya Pradesh, especially the women, are eagerly waiting for PM Modi's arrival at the venue and to hear him on the occasion. 'The whole of Madhya Pradesh, especially the women of the state, are waiting for the Prime Minister. Around 2 lakh women across the state will gather here for the event in Bhopal's Jamboree Maidan. PM Modi will address the gathering, and today will be a historic day on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar. We are very happy and are going to organise this event with great confidence,' Gaur told ANI. She further emphasised that following the success of Operation Sindoor, women's confidence in the PM and the government has increased, and by wearing Sindoori sarees, they are paying respect to the Indian army and the PM. 'After the success of Operation Sindoor, women's confidence in the Prime Minister and the government has increased. Today, by wearing Sindoori sarees, women are paying respect to our army and Prime Minister Modi,' Gaur added. On the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilya Bai Holkar, PM Modi will address the programme centred on women empowerment and also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects. PM Narendra Modi to unveil Indore's first Metro, 2 airports in Madhya Pradesh today
BHOPAL/INDORE: Indore, the country's cleanest city, will get its first Metro train on Saturday when Prime Minister Narendra Modi flags off the inaugural run during his visit to Bhopal for a Women Empowerment Conference on the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai. The PM will also inaugurate Satna and Datia airports, lay the foundation for construction of ghats on River Kshipra under a Rs 778 crore project and transfer the first instalment for 1,271 new panchayat bhavans, costing Rs 483 crore. PM Modi will release a postage stamp and 35g coin dedicated to Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai. A govt official said the Rs 300-denomination coin is the first such in the world. Governor Mangubhai Patel, chief minister Mohan Yadav and Union culture minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will attend the event at Bhopal's Jamboree Maidan where the PM will address a gathering of over 2 lakh women. The CM said it will be a "historic day" for Madhya Pradesh. Over 150 years after the Holkar rulers initiated construction of Indore's first railway line (to Khandwa) at a cost of Rs 1 crore, a Rs 7,500 crore is on to give citizens a hassle-free commute across the historic city. The network is over 31.3km long, of which the first stretch of 6km will be inaugurated by the PM on Saturday. Indore Metro's opening route has five stations: Gandhinagar and Super Corridor-6, 5, 4 and 3.
