Glens, Reds, Blues and Lisburn Ladies secure wins
Glentoran, Cliftonville, Linfield and Lisburn Ladies secured victories in Friday's second round of Women's Irish Premiership Glens lead the table after beating Lisburn Rangers 4-1 with champions Cliftonville overcoming Derry City 3-1 at the Brandywell, Linfield edging out Crusaders 2-1 at Midgley Park and Lisburn Ladies earning a 2-0 win over Larne Women at Inver Moore put the Glens ahead at the Blanchflower Stadium with Kascie Weir doubling their advantage before the Conway reduced the deficit just past the hour mark but two goals in stoppage time from Emily Wilson put gloss on the scoreline for Kim Turner's McKimm put the Reds ahead after only three minutes at the Brandywell with Teegan Lynch doubling their advantage in the 16th got back into the game on 54 minutes when Katie Hargan directed the ball past Erin McAllister but Fionnuala Morgan completed the scoring four minutes later with a headed finish over Naomh Barr from Marissa Callaghan's pinpoint finishes from Alex Clarke and Cora Chambers helped Linfield defeat Crusaders Strikers at Midgley opened the scoring for the Blues midway through the first half with a lovely looping finish over the head of keeper Maddy 35 minutes, Chambers doubled the home advantage after twisting and turning in the box to fire in Linfield's second McDaid pulled one back for the Crues on 70 minutes but Ryan McConville's side held on to claim the a goalless first half at Inver Park, Jess Hall fired Lisburn Ladies ahead directly from a corner while substitute Sidra Alsaidi notched their second Glentoran the only side on a maximum six points following the opening two rounds of fixtures, they have a two-point advantage over Cliftonville and Linfield, who drew last week.
