Kourtney Kardashian Questions Why Kids Go To School

This week, Kourtney Kardashian appeared on her sister Khloé Kardashian's podcast, Khloé In Wonder Land, for a wide-ranging chat. Amid the conversation, Kourtney, 46, shared some of her unconventional parenting beliefs as she recalled starting to challenge the way that she and her family 'function' after beginning therapy a few years ago. Kourtney shared, 'I feel like I love to just go against the grain, I think,' before later adding, 'I think living authentically is not conforming to whatever it is. For me, there's so many ways. There's ways we function as a family that…it's like if someone does the same thing every day.' 'I do it with everything, it's not about our family. Like, let's say the school system. I'll think, 'Why do kids fucking go to school?' Truly. It's so dated,' Kourtney said, with Khloé quickly agreeing: 'Oh, I'm such a homeschool person, so don't even get me going.' 'So then I'll start thinking, and then my kids will send me videos about, like, 'Why do kids go to school?' It'll be really successful people and they'll be like, 'My kids never go to school and they're never going to,'' Kourtney shared. 'And then I'm like, 'What's the goal here? You want to do homeschool? Let's do it!' Or whatever it is. I think it's anything.' Kourtney also noted that she prefers to 'nurse the fever' of her kids instead of giving them medication when they're sick. 'I will nurse the fever of my kids versus giving Tylenol or ibuprofen. I just want to do that. And whatever it is, there's so many things like that where I feel like I kinda do, maybe in the world generally does maybe more of what I do, but [not] in the United States,' she said. Kourtney's parenting comments have since caused a huge stir online, with several people branding her take 'out of touch' and 'irresponsible.' 'There's a strong wave of anti-intellectualism in America and it's frightening. What do you mean kids going to school is outdated???' one person wrote. 'Such an irresponsible comment when we have an administration in our government salivating at the idea of eliminating public school,' said another. Meanwhile, other users highlighted the importance of education. One person wrote, 'where does she think advances in medicine come from that keep her and her family healthy? who designs the infrastructure of the city she lives? who flies her private jet? who manages her business? people with an education. HER kids just don't need to be smart bc they will never have to work a day in their lives.' Yikes…Let me know what you think below. Khloé Kardashian Recalled How She Once Got Trapped Under Kris Jenner's Bed While She Was Having Sex, And It Sounds Genuinely Traumatizing

There's no disputing that Khloé Kardashian has been through a lot of trauma in her life, from big breakups to messy scandals. However, it sounds like this particular childhood experience left her especially scarred — and I can understand why. On the latest episode of her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, the Good American founder was joined by the one and only Kris Jenner. The mother-daughter duo talked about all things family and parenting, which prompted Khloé to share a 'gross' childhood memory. On the topic of having kids, Khloé said: 'I believe I was under the bed one time when you and your ex-husband were trying [to get pregnant] and that was… I still go to therapy over that.' Somewhat hilariously, Kris jumped to her own defense, which led them to tell the whole story. 'I was playing hide and go-seek, and nobody found me, and I fell asleep,' Khloé remembered, to which Kris added: "You were hiding under my bed, and you didn't get caught. You decided to stay there because it sounded exciting, and you got an earful, and you being tortured for the rest of your life is exactly what you deserve… Those sounds will never leave you.' Now, if you thought Kris's defensiveness was a little weird, then the story gets worse when you learn that Khloé was with her friend Francesca at the time (I actually can't decide who that experience would be worse for?). She recalled that two of them got the giggles, which was how Kris and her then-husband — presumably Caitlyn Jenner — were alerted to their presence. 'You guys were like, 'I think I hear something,' and then when you guys said that, we ran, and you were like, 'What was that?'' Khloé remembered, adding that it was 'a while' before anyone eventually came to find them. 'I think you guys were probably so mortified, as I would be, too.' Looking back, Kris said she was most likely wondering how to manage the situation carefully. 'We were probably trying to figure out the game plan, like, 'What do we say we were doing?'' she explained. ''Let's say we were wrestling and it was an Olympic competition.'' 'Gross,' Khloé replied nonchalantly. 'I can't even think about this anymore.' Honestly, same. You can find Kris's full appearance on Khloé in Wonder Land here.

Trump Isn't King, and Congress Isn't Coequal

It is common today to think of our branches of government as coequal, as Daniel Henninger writes in his column 'Trump's Imperial Presidency?' (Wonder Land, Jan. 23). But this is incorrect. The Founders would say our branches are coordinate, that each has its own role. The government must write the law before it can enforce or interpret it, meaning that Congress is the central branch of our system. Our system of checks and balances doesn't equalize the branches, for Congress still wields substantial power over the other branches. Congress can design the courts and executive departments and even remove the president. Yet the president and the courts can't interfere with Congress and must faithfully execute and interpret its laws.
