Glastonbury fans make demand as bosses forced to stop access to stage during surprise set
Glastonbury fans were forced to stop people from entering a stage at the festival during the first performance of the day. New Zealand singer Lorde arrived on Woodies Stage at 11.30am to perform a surprise set in front of a packed crowd.
The singer, 28, had been heavily tipped to be the artist who was going to perform, which was left as TBA on the schedule. As a result fans rushed to Woodies - forcing bosses to step in and stop more people entering the tent.
A statement on the official X account shortly after 11.30am said: "No access to Woodsies. Please head to another area of the site. Thank you.."

Fans on social media quick to point out the popular singer should have been given a set on a bigger stage.
Writing on X @YouGhostTrack wrote: "Another act that should've been on Pyramid," while @Luke73072657 said: "Put on a secret set then everyone finds out the secret set who's on a stage way to small."
Before the show rumours had began circulating that it was Lorde, whose fourth-studio album, Virgin, has released today, was due to play.
The pop star posted a picture of the Woodsies stage to her Instagram account on Thursday, fuelling speculation that she could be the act listed as 'TBA' who will be performing at 11.30am.
Earlier in the month, she told BBC Radio 2 that she is 'pretty keen' to see if she can 'pull some strings' and make an appearance at this year's festival.
Headliners at the 2025 festival include international popstar Olivia Rodrigo, indie-pop band The 1975, Sir Rod Stewart who has nabbed the elite tea-time legends slot, as well as Kaiser Chiefs, Raye, Snow Patrol, Busta Rhymes, John Fogerty, among many other huge names.
There are set to be more than 3,000 over the week across the festival's 100 stages and venues.
