YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kelly Sumner Anderson II, who departed this life on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Born on May 7, 1979, in Youngstown, Ohio, Kelly brought light and laughter to all who knew him. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. Kelly dedicated much of his life to his work as a roofer, employed by Noam, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. He was not just a skilled laborer but a vibrant part of the Youngstown community. He had an unmistakable appreciation for the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Kelly's zest for life and passion for sports inspired his family and friends, especially sparking a love of baseball in his nieces. Kelly was a member of the Brothers of the Hammer Motorcycle Club and was known as Eight Ball. Kelly was raised in a loving family and he is survived by his devoted mother, Brenda Anderson; his caring father, Kelly Anderson; his companion, Frances Robles and bonus children, Juliette Cochran and Edgar Negrom, Jr. and his siblings, Tyneshia Jones-Stephenson and Kenda Anderson. He will also be dearly missed by his nieces, Nya Anderson, Trinityee Stephenson and Ja'Nele Stephenson; as well as his nephew, Marquis Stephenson. As we gather to remember Kelly, we will cherish the memories and the joy he brought into this world. In honor of Kelly's life, a public viewing will be held at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Avenue, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., with the Celebration of Life Services to being at 10:00 a.m. His spirit will live on in our hearts, guiding us with his love and laughter. Rest in peace, Kelly. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Warrants issued in relation fight after local high school graduation

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — Multiple arrest warrants were issued in connection to a fight that occurred after the Woodrow Wilson High School graduation. According to a press release from the Beckley Police Department, the fight occurred on Saturday, May 31, 2025 after the Woodrow Wilson High School graduation at the Beckley-Raleigh Convention Center. Richlands Police Department investigates reported hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian The press release stated that it was discovered that the fight was allegedly caused by ongoing tensions between multiple people involved in the incident. The Beckley Police Department stated that during the fight, a gun was taken from one of the people involved, although the gun was reportedly never shown at the time of the fight. According to the Beckley Police Department, regardless of the event location, possessing a gun at a school sponsored event is illegal. The press release stated that as of Thursday, June 5, 2025, misdemeanor warrants were issued for: 19-year-old Jalen Marquis Cook: Charged with Possession of a deadly weapon on premises of a school-sponsored function 21-year-old Tayvon Anthony Morris: Charged with Battery 18-year-old Stephon Tyreese Yancy: Charged with Battery 18-year-old -year-old Tommy Lee Payton III: Charged with Battery 21-year-old Tytus Ira Mason: Charged with Battery 21-year-old Ty'Lai Khalis Kimble: Charged with Battery 18-year-old Zachary Lee Pennington: Charged with Battery 18-year-old Brandon Jerrell Burks Jr.: Charged with Battery 19-year-old Latrael Decors Hairston: Charged with Battery 18-year-old Madix Caiden Preast: Charged with Battery Nurse charged in Raleigh County after a child was taken to a hospital with a broken femur According to the Beckley Police Department, all people involved are believed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – With deep sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Dolores Cronin, who left this world peacefully at home surrounded by her family and loved ones on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on December 13, 1943, in Youngstown, Ohio, Dolores lived a full and vibrant life centered around family, joy and adventure. Find obituaries from your high school Dolores or 'Dee' as her family called her, attended Woodrow Wilson High School. She was a school bus driver for Mathews School District. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, SFC Donald C. Cronin, whom she married on June 2, 1990. It is a beautiful and poignant coincidence that she passed on the anniversary of their wedding day. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary (Kachmar) Kovach, whose love and guidance shaped the woman she became. Additionally, her brother, Robert Kovach, Sr. and her nephew, Robert Kovach, Jr. Dolores was the devoted mother to and survived by, Debra (Janice) Gordon of Camden, South Carolina, Diann (Ken) Chiarullo of Warren, Ohio and William 'Kenneth' Mitchell, Jr., of Huntington, Indiana. She was the proud grandmother of, Tonya Coy (Jason Whitely) and Janelle (Ryan) Seevers; a joyful great-grandmother to three beautiful great-granddaughters, Serenity Mathews, Gianna Seevers and Oaklynn Coy-Whitely, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness. Additionally, her sister-in-law, Marge Kovach of Niles and a nephew/Godson, Gregory (Angela) Kovach of Monroe Falls and great-nephews and niece, Calvin Artman, Robert (Colette) Kovach III, William Kovach and Sylvia Kovach. A spirited woman with a deep love for life, Dolores was an avid fan of casinos, always chasing the thrill of a win and the joy of a shared laugh. She enjoyed a good glass of wine and had a lifelong passion for traveling, exploring new places, cooking and making lasting memories with those she loved. She never let the grass grow under her feet! She will be remembered for her warmth, sense of humor and the generous heart she shared with everyone she met. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, and the stories and laughter she leaves behind. The family would like to thank the staff at Southern Care for the help and care they have provided. Also extend our appreciation to Vhari Bernard for the help, love and support during this difficult time. A private family service will be held in her honor. WVU student teaches space weather class at Beckley Stratton Middle School

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — Students in Paula Mitchell's science class at Beckley Stratton Middle School were mesmerized on Monday, May 19, 2025, as they received a presentation on space weather, offered by former Beckley Stratton Middle School student Piper Dangerfield. 'They were every engaging during the presentation. They had great questions after,' said Dangerfield, a West Virginia University engineering student who is now completing her freshman year. 'They were all very surprised that I'm 19, which I guess I'll take as a compliment.' Dangerfield, a member of the Rocketry Club, offers a space weather class to middle school students through the NASA West Virginia Space Grant at WVU. The students viewed videos, raised their hands, shouted out questions and even offered their own theories. Woodrow Wilson High School alum teaches NASA program to middle school students Mitchell said she was teaching a course on space when Dangerfield offered to bring her space weather presentation to Beckley Stratton Middle School. She said it is important for students to see those who attended BEST returning to the community with stories of success. 'It's really important. I'm a former student here, too. So, I always try to tell that to the children, so they can see me as an example,' Mitchell said. 'So having another former student come is just another example that when you leave here, you can do great things.' Beckley-Stratton Middle School to host community building event Dangerfield, a Woodrow Wilson High School graduate, said she was happy to present the space weather program at her former middle school. 'Getting to come back and see all these children, with how engaged they are, they've all been every engaging, asking great questions, it's just I have hope for these kids,' said Dangerfield. AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Michael A. Donnaurnmo, 73 of Austintown, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 8, 1952, in Youngstown, Michael was the son of the late Henry and Angeline (Petrella) Donnaurnmo. Find obituaries from your high school He was a proud graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, class of 1970. Michael went on to work at General Motors for over 35 years, where he held various positions and was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. He retired from there in 2006. On June 9, 1973, he married the love of his life, Janet Anderson. Together they built a beautiful life centered around family, faith and shared joy for almost 52 years. Michael was a proud father to Lisa (Richard, Jr.) Kalosky, Jennifer (Michael) Squibbs and Michelle (Adam) Hamilton. He found immense joy in his role as 'Pop' to his cherished grandchildren, Avery, Michael, Jr. and Brooke Squibbs, Hanna, Connor and Tyler Hamilton, Richard, III and Joseph Kalosky. He also leaves many cherished nieces, nephews and his Godson, Jimmy Shurilla. A true car fanatic, especially fond of Camaros, Michael could often be found in his garage building race cars from scratch or detailing his newer prized possessions. His other favorite place to be was at the beach, always looking forward to annual visits to Ocean City, Maryland and Geneva-on-the-Lake. Michael was a regular at Planet Fitness, maintaining the nickname 'Iron Mike,' which he was given in his earlier years. He was happiest when surrounded by family, his greatest priority and proudest legacy. Michael was a former member of John Knox Presbyterian Church and attended Greenford Christian Church. His faith, strength and unwavering devotion to his family touched everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Tony Donnaurmmo and Larry Donnaurnmo and sisters, Carmel Toto, Janet Caspary and Janice Draper. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Patriot Hospice for their compassionate care and support in his final days. Michael will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered and forever cherished by those who knew and loved him.
