Templepatrick and Woodvale share the spoils in dramatic last over thriller
Woodvale needed six off the last over bowled by Charles Swart, who picked up two wickets to leave them needing two off the last ball. Matthew Peak managed one before being run out to leave the scores level on 127. Ben Cave had cleared the ropes four times for the hosts in a hard-hit 33, while there was a first appearance of the season for Sri Lankan international Sandun Weerakkody, who made 19, with James Martin picking up three wickets. Ruhan Pretorius (33) and Ludwig Kaestner (26) had added 64 for the second wicket to put Woodvale on top before the late drama. The Instonians bandwagon rolls on with Neil Rock once again in the runs in their victory over Muckamore. 'Pebbles' thumped 11 fours and four sixes in a 31-ball 78, giving another reminder to Ireland chief of selectors Andrew White – who happened to be batting at the other end! The pair shared a fourth wicket stand of 77 in 33 balls, with White striking seven boundaries in a quickfire 52 as Inst posted 203 for seven. Muckamore were never in contention as early wickets for Shane Dadswell and James Magee all but ended the game. Jude Keates hit a defiant half century, but it was too little too late as the Shaw's Bridge side closed out a 58-run win. Waringstown lost again, this time to a very much in-form CIYMS by 48 runs. Herman Rolfes top-scored for the Belmont side with 65 from 42 balls (seven fours, two sixes) adding 89 in eight overs with skipper John Matchett, who scored a rapid 44. There were runs too for Chris Dougherty (31) and Jake Egan (21) in a total of 191 for six. Matchett then took three wickets as Waringstown were bowled out for 143 – Adam Dennison hitting four sixes in a counterattacking 37. In the North West, there were wins for Bready, Brigade, Newbuildings – for whom Jason Dunn and Johnny Thompson shared an opening stand of 149 – Coleraine, Eglinton, Killyclooney, and Ballyspallen – who chased 200 to beat Ardmore in a remarkable game. Junaid Ali had scored 101 for the Bleachgreen side, but Isaac Bird's 51-ball 102 set up the Bridge Park side for a stunning seven-wicket victory in the 18th over.

Waringstown savour double glory as men and women's sides both seal victories
Chasing 126, the pair shared a second wicket partnership of 118 in 69 balls with Topping clearing the ropes five times in an unbeaten 60 from only 32 balls, while McCollum's 57 from 40 deliveries included nine fours and one maximum. Irish international McCollum and Saturday's centurion Adam Dennison fell in the space of four balls to Carl Robinson (two for 12), but Topping finished with a six in the 14th over to move his side to third in the table. Harry Warke top-scored for Woodvale with a hard-hit 44 (eight fours, one six) before falling to Daniel van der Merwe (three for 19), while Tom Mayes (two for 18) claimed the big wicket of Ruhan Pretorius. That completed a fine day for Waringstown as their Women's side went top of the Premiership with a six-wicket win over Lisburn. Rebecca Lowe made 44 for Lisburn as she and Sarah McCallan (29) shared a second wicket stand of 83. But Penny Speer took four wickets as they collapsed to 105 all out, with Naomi Matthews claiming three scalps and Irish international Cara Murray two. The chase was a routine one with Amy Caulfield and Abbi Harrison each making 37 as they added 60 in seven overs to win in the 12th over. Holywood proved too strong for Muckamore as Eva Cupitt made 31 in the home side's 101 for six, and that was 61 too many for the Moylena team as three wickets apiece for Madison Landman and Nina Kerr bundled them out for 40. CSNI made it a three-way tie at the top as they beat North Down by 32 runs thanks to 34 from Sarah Rountree and two wickets apiece from Eva Wilson and Emily Calvert.

The former Ulster rugby player turned Irish cricket international bludgeoned 11 fours and cleared the ropes five times in his 100 from only 53 balls as Lisburn posted 190 for 5. He shared a third wicket stand of 77 in 39 balls with skipper Neil Whitworth, who made 21, while Nigel Jones made two maximums in a breezy 24. Chris Dougherty made 48 in the chase but, after two early wickets for Ryan Macbeth, Whitworth took four scalps to kill any momentum as they closed out a 39-run win. Abhishek Raut was the night's other centurion with the former Rajasthan Royals IPL star hitting seven fours and five sixes in a 58-ball unbeaten 103 that powered Cliftonville Academy to 190 for 5 at Templepatrick. He shared a fourth wicket stand of 91 in eight overs with John Glass, who made 29, while skipper Matthew McCord hit 28 — three wickets for Evan Carlisle. Charles Swart hit five boundaries in a quickfire 51, while Mark Thompson scored 28 in the chase, but Templepatrick were never in contention falling 45 runs adrift — two wickets for Andrew Forbes. Highest scorers of the night were Waringstown, who racked up 202 for 5 at Muckamore. All the top six were in the runs with skipper Greg Thompson leading the way with an undefeated 57 from just 24 balls, that included no fewer than six sixes — three of them from the final over bowled by Sathish Suresh. Tom Mayes and Sam Topping both made 29, while James McCollum (26), Morgan Topping (24) and Daniel van der Merwe (22) all chipped in. Jason van der Merwe clubbed eight fours and four sixes as he raced to 58 in 25 balls, dominating an opening stand of 70 in five overs, but he was the first of three wickets for Ross Allen, while Thompson also claimed a trio in a 45-run victory. Three wickets for Josh Corbett and an unbeaten 48 from Steven Saul guided North Down to a six-wickets win over Woodvale. Ruhan Pretorius top scored with 39 for the Ballygomartin Road side but Saul and skipper Tyron Koen (27) ensured the victory with a fourth wicket partnership of 63 in nine overs. Lisburn and Instonians remain unbeaten after May Day fixtures
Faiz Fazal was the hero at Wallace Park as with 12 needed off the last two balls, the Indian professional showed why he is regarded as the best batsman in the country by clearing the ropes twice to seal a dramatic one-wicket win. His unbeaten 145 included eight fours and sixes as the Wallace Park side chased down CSNI's 256 for 6, with James Hunter also making 51. The result was tough on teenager Harry Dyer, who scored a half century along with Marc Ellison, and took two for 22 in his ten-overs spell. Instonians had Cian Robertson to thank for their two-wickets win at North Down. Needing nine off the final over, Robertson's unbeaten 62 got them over the line off the penultimate ball chasing 225. Kian Hilton top-scored for the Comber side with 69. It was a tale of three South African centuries at Ballygomartin Road, with Woodvale coming out on top against Templepatrick. Neil Brand hit 18 fours and three sixes on his way to 144 in the newly promoted side's 313 for 6. That proved little trouble as Ruhan Pretorius and Eddie Moore shared a third wicket partnership of 234 in 31 overs. Pretorius hit 14 fours and 6 sixes in a top score of 132, while Test player Moore's debut saw him clear the ropes nine times in an unbeaten 128. There was a shock at The Lawn where defending champions Waringstown lost to CIYMS by 12 runs. Tom Mayes' six-wicket haul looked to have them in control as the Belmont side were bowled out for 187 – Chris Dougherty making 61. However, despite opener Adam Dennison's 54 CIYMS earned the points as former Irish international leg-spinner Jacob Mulder picked up a five wickets haul, with two apiece for Herman Rolfes and teenage spinner Alex Armstrong. There was no shortage of drama at Moylena either, where Muckamore survived a late surge by Cliftonville Academy to win by 20 runs. Chasing 246, the home side looked well in control as CA slumped to 137 for 7. However, John Glass and Adam Kelso added 85 for the eighth wicket, before they lost three wickets in six balls to fall short.
