World Food & Music Festival ranked among top five cultural festivals by USA Today
DES MOINES, Iowa — The World Food and Music Festival is ranked number five in USA Today's 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards for Best Cultural Festival.
The festival beat out top contenders from states such as Florida, New York, and Hawaii. The ranking was based on a public voting process.

USA Today said, 'The World Food and Music Festival highlights international cuisine with a diverse group of food and drink vendors, as well as interactive culinary programming. Live performances, such as Irish dancing and taiko drumming, add to the fun and ambience, truly making this event a feast for the senses.'
Amelia Klatt the Director of Events for the Greater Des Moines Partnership, said in a statement, 'Being recognized as one of the nation's top cultural festivals is an amazing honor. This recognition reflects the rich heritage, vibrant flavors and unique cultural experiences that make the World Food & Music Festival special. We are grateful for the support from our community and visitors who celebrate with us every year.'
This year's annual event will be held in Des Moines' Western Gateway Park from Friday, August 22nd through Sunday, August 24th.
