Fan dressed as Saquon Barkley's backwards hurdle wins Fanatics Fest contest
No play during the 2024 NFL season was more iconic than Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley's backwards hurdle in a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. And now, one creative fan has leveraged his unique take on the play into tickets to the Super Bowl, World Cup Final and Wrestlemania 42. Eagles fan JJ Nesheiwat showed up to last weekend's Fanatics Fest wearing a Jaguars jersey and holding a mannequin wearing a Barkley jersey and Eagles helmet over his head in a "reverse hurdle" posture. Thanks to the outfit, Nesheiwat got a chance to meet Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean, who posed with him for a picture. Advertisement Fanatics announced via social media on Monday, June 23 that Nesheiwat's costume also had won him the weekend's "Best Dressed Fan" award, meaning he'd also receive free tickets to the Super Bowl, World Cup final and Wrestlemania 42. FANATICS FEST: Commanders owner buys Jayden Daniels rookie card for $500,000 "We saw thousands of amazing outfits at Fanatics Fest," the sports merchandise and collectibles company wrote on social media platform X, "but this one reverse hurdled over the rest." Time will tell whether Nesheiwat will get the chance to watch his favorite team attempt to repeat as Super Bowl champions in Santa Clara, California, next February. After that, he'll need to make his way to Las Vegas for Wrestlemania 42 at Allegiant Stadium in April before going back to the East Coast for the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in July. Paralympian Sam Ruddock located safe after being reported missing in Las Vegas
British paralympian Sam Ruddock has been located safe after being reported missing in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that a missing person report was filed on April 24 and that the individual was found in the investigation. Ruddock had last been heard from on April 16. His friend Lucy Hatton, a former Team GB hurdler, confirmed on social media he had been located and thanked people for their support. Advertisement 'Sam is alive, Sam is well,' she said. 'I obviously need to get more status update but I don't care, let's get that boy home.' Hatton said Ruddock had travelled alone to attend Wrestlemania 42 in Las Vegas on April 13 and was supposed to check out of his hostel near Las Vegas Boulevard on April 15 and was later scheduled to travel to New York and Texas as part of his trip. She told The Athletic she became concerned when Ruddock went 'radio silent'. Ruddock, who has cerebral palsy, represented Great Britain at the London 2012 Paralympics in the 100m and 200m and competed at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in the shot put event. The 35-year-old made the switch to cycling in 2018 and won gold in the track cycling C1 1,000m time trial at the 2023 World Para-Cycling Championships. (Oli Scarff/AFP via Getty Images)

Wrestlemania 42 will take place in the home of the Saints in 2026
The city of New Orleans has another major event lined up. After hosting Super Bowl LIX, the city will be the home of Wrestlemania 42 in 2026. It is the biggest event in all of pro wrestling and it's making it's return to the home of the New Orleans Saints. The announcement was made by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson on the latest episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown. It was an appropriate moment to make the announcement as Smackdown was live from the Smoothie King Center, home of the New Orleans Pelicans. Wrestlemania 42 will take place next door at the Caesars Superdome. It's the third time New Orleans has hosted The Grandest Stage of Them All. The first time was in 2014 and then again in 2018. In the eight years since the last time New Orleans hosted this event, Wrestlemania has increased from one night to a two-night event. It is tentatively scheduled for April 11-12, 2026, so that won't conflict with the Saints' 2026 season. This year's Wrestlemania will take place in Las Vegas. There will also be three weekly events and multiple fan events in Las Vegas during Wrestlemania week. New Orleans can expect a similar experience next year. New Orleans is used to hosting large events, and if anyone needed any proof, they can look back to just two weeks ago when the city put on a great week of Super Bowl activities.
