WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 results, grades and analysis: John Cena aligns with The Rock in shocking heel turn

Two more tickets were punched for WrestleMania 41 after John Cena and Bianca Belair won the men's and women's Elimination Chamber matches, but the in-ring action took a back seat to the stunning closing segment at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on Saturday night. In one of the biggest twists in WWE history, Cena turned heel for the first time in his career as Rhodes rejected Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's request for his proverbial soul. It turns out "The Final Boss" had a contingency plan, as Cena, The Rock and Travis Scott brutalized Rhodes, meaning the future WWE Hall of Famer's retirement tour will see him work heel as he heads for an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. On the women's side, Belair emerged victorious and will face either Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley or Iyo Sky at WrestleMania 41. That wasn't the only major takeaway from the night's opening contest, as Jade Cargill made her surprising return and viciously attacked Naomi โ€” who replaced Cargill as Belair's tag-team partner. There were two other matches on the card, with Kevin Owens beating Sami Zayn in an unsanctioned match that serves as the latest entry in a decades-long rivalry between the two frenemies and featured the return of Randy Orton upon its conclusion. In a comparatively inconsequential matchup, WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton teamed up with the legendary Trish Stratus to beat Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. Here are the full results of Saturday's Elimination Chamber. Grade: A Best spot: Morgan and Belair chain-countering finishers BIANCA BELAIR GANA LA #WWECHAMBER FEMENINA EN UN GRAN FINAL โ€” LuigiWrestling (@LuigiWrestling) March 2, 2025 Analysis: From start to finish, you'd be hard-pressed to find anything wrong with the opening Elimination Chamber match. I thought it was a phenomenal decision to book Jade Cargill's return the way WWE did, which potentially opens the door for her to be the newest member of Judgment Day, a possibility that has been teased over the past few weeks on 'WWE Raw.' Belair vs. Rhea Ripley or Iyo Sky (or both) will have extremely high expectations heading into WrestleMania 41, but considering the names involved, I'm betting it'll be an instant classic. There's a good chance we'll see Perez and Bayley continue their feud while there are relatively clear slates for both Morgan and Bliss moving forward. WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus def. Nia Jax and Candice LeRae in 11:40. Grade: C+ Best spot: Stratton's 2nd Prettiest Moonsault Ever PRETTIEST MOONSAULT EVER FOR THE WIN!!@tiffstrattonwwe #WWEChamber โ€” ๐ƒ๐ซ๐š๐•๐ž๐ง (@WrestlingCovers) March 2, 2025 Analysis: I hope Tiffany Stratton isn't involved in any spots like she was with the initially countered Prettiest Moonsault Ever on Saturday. Maybe it looked worse on TV than it actually was, but too much can go wrong on the top rope like that. Otherwise, this match was inconsequential. We know where we're going with Stratton vs. Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 41, and Trish Stratus was a hometown play more than something long-term. Nia Jax and Candice LeRae work well as a tag team and Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez need challengers, so I suspect that's where we'll head next. Kevin Owens def. Sami Zayn in 27:35 Grade: A Best spot: Blue Thunder Bomb onto the barbed-wire chair BARBED WIRE CHAIRS?! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Analysis: It took a long time for this match to get goin, and although there was plenty of violence throughout, things seemed a bit dead early on. These generally aren't my favorite types of matches (especially ending with stretchers involved), but as the match reached its crescendo, you really saw the art and storytelling of professional wrestling shine through the brutal reality of Owens vs. Zayn. The lighting โ€” purposeful due to the 'unsanctioned' nature of the match โ€” took away from the overall atmosphere, hence my A grade instead of A+. Zayn is almost certainly going to be off television for a while and Randy Orton's return locks in Owens for the foreseeable future. John Cena def. CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Logan Paul, Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre in 32:40 Grade: A Best spot: Cena vs. Punk sharing the ring again THEN. NOW. FOREVER. TONIGHT.#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Analysis: With the exception of Logan Paul, everyone has a clear program coming out of the Elimination Chamber and heading into WrestleMania 41. Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre are likely to feud on "WWE SmackDown," CM Punk and Rollins isn't finished on "WWE Raw" (with the possible addition of Roman Reigns at a later date), and, well ... we'll get into John Cena in just a minute. The action here was very solid, even if it was a notch below the women's Chamber match in my opinion. Seeing Cena and Punk share a ring โ€” and even team up โ€” again was dialing back the clock 15 years to when they created the defining rivalry within WWE. Although it was relatively unlikely that McIntyre, Priest or Paul were going to win, all three remain wildly underrated. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes answers "The Final Boss" and John Cena turns heel Grade: A+ IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED.#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Analysis: John Cena is a heel. I'm not sure much more needs to be said here because that statement is stunning enough on its own. After 20-plus years, Cena's entire character and persona will undergo a major change. For a certain generation of fans, Elimination Chamber 2025 becomes their Bash at the Beach 1996 or the June 2, 2014 'WWE Raw.' Rhodes vs. Cena is a LOCK for the main event of Night 2 of WrestleMania 41 and it's going to be an epic build considering the swerve we just got. As Cena celebrated his record-tying 4th Elimination Chamber win, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes' music hit. Rhodes, clad in most black, met Cena in the ring and the two shared a moment before The Rock's music hit and Travis Scott emerged followed by "The Final Boss" himself. When he finally entered the ring, Rock made his final overture to Rhodes and after a brief tease, Rhodes told The Rock to "go [expletive] yourself." Cena went to embrace Rhodes and deadpanned to The Rock, who made a nod and throat-cutting gesture to the 16-time champion. Cena then delivered a low blow and beat down Rhodes using a Rolex watch, microphone and the championship belt. Logan Paul was first to enter โ€” and while he didn't need the added heat, he retreated to Gorilla Position to grab an American flag and carry it to the ring. Damian Priest followed, drawing a relatively muted response from the Canadian crowd. CM Punk was third out and was serenaded by the crowd, which sang along to "Cult of Personality." As Punk stood at the base of and entered the Chamber, Michael Cole ran down the last time he was in an Elimination Chamber match โ€” 2012 when he successfully defended his WWE Championship in the titular match. The final man to enter a pod for the match was non other than John Cena. Saturday was the first time Cena had been on WWE programming since he finished runner up in the Royal Rumble. The LAST #WWEChamber is NOW for John Cena! ๐Ÿซก โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 With the pods secured, Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins would be the final two to make their entrances and were the ones who kicked off the match. Rollins and McIntyre began the match with a brief staredown before each man went for a speedy finisher โ€” McIntyre a Claymore Kick and Rollins a Stomp. McIntyre caught a crossbody attempt from Rollins and dumped him outside the ring and then used the Chamber chains to his advantage. McIntyre taunted Punk, which allowed Rollins to recover enough and repeatedly slam McIntyre into Punk's pod. The first near-fall of the match came as Rollins hit a pair of glancing knee strikes and went for the early elimination. The back-and-forth nature of the one-on-one segment of the match continued as McIntyre hit several high-impact moves targeting Rollins' back. Much like what we saw from McIntyre and Punk in Hell in a Cell, McIntyre showed a unique piece of offense, slingshotting Rollins so his throat hit the metal connector of the turnbuckle. Damian Priest entered the match and began to clean house against Rollins and McIntyre shortly after the five-minute mark. Priest used Rollins as a weapon, sending him into McIntyre with a Razor's Edge and the pace picked up significantly after. All three men were taken out by a modified Tower of Doom spot as Logan Paul entered the match just before the nine-minute mark. Paul landed a few impressive moves and blows on each competitor, unsuccessfully pinning each afterwards. As Paul taunted, Priest pounced and took the fight directly to Paul. After Priest paid homage to the Undertaker with his old-school Hurricanrana, Paul was able to hit a gut-wrench slam on Priest. Cena was 3rd to escape the pod at around the 12-minute mark and the 16-time champion immediately cleaned house, including hitting Paul with a 5-Knuckle Shuffle and Attitude Adjustment. McIntyre sneakily landed a Claymore Kick on Cena but was distracted, allowing Priest to roll him up and get the first elimination. Furious, McIntyre hit Priest with a Claymore before exiting. JOHN CENA wasted ZERO TIME inside the Elimination Chamber Match!#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 With Priest incapacitated, Paul climbed to the top of Punk's pod and hit a Frog Splash on Priest and eliminated him. The match's field was complete moments later as Punk was freed and he began brawling with Paul. After Punk finished with Paul he engaged in a lengthy standoff with Cena. Rollins interfered and attacked Punk before he and Cena went toe-to-toe in the center of the ring. Paul, ever the opportunist, recovered and took out both Rollins and Cena with a double clothesline. FROM THE TOP OF THE POD!#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Paul's momentum โ€” and WrestleMania dream โ€” was ended shortly after as Punk hit him with a GTS and pinned him to eliminate the Maverick. OUTTA HERE!#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Down to the final three of Punk, Cena and Rollins, the trio of veterans examined their options before Punk and Cena teamed up against Rollins, even hitting a Hart Attack to pay homage to the legendary Hart Foundation tag team. After an embrace between the longtime rivals, they began to unload on one another in the ring and execute counter after counter, showing off their familiarity with one another. Ultimately, Cena locked in an STF submission which was reversed into an Anaconda Vice. Cena rolled into a pin attempt, forcing the break from Punk. Punk climbed to the top turnbuckle twice after, hitting a double ax-handle on Rollins and then getting caught on a crossbody attempt which Cena powered into an Attitude Adjustment and a near-fall. THEN. NOW. FOREVER. TONIGHT.#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Cena climbed to the top rope โ€” a rarity in his career โ€” but Rollins was able to pull him down and powerbomb Cena into the side of the cage before throwing him through one of the pods. Rollins turned his attention to Punk and scored a near-fall with a Pedigree. Rollins went for a second Pedigree outside the ring but Punk reversed it into a back-body drop. Punk kept up the offense, shrugging off a Superplex attempt to land a big elbow on Rollins. Rollins quickly recovered himself shortly after, hitting a Bucklebomb and Stomp for a near fall on Punk. A incensed Rollins went to the top rope but was met by Cena, who set him up for an Attitude Adjustment. Rollins escaped the initial attempt but the Punk-Cena partnership came back as Punk hit a GTS on Rollins, sending him directly into an Attitude Adjustment and allowing Punk to eliminate the Visionary. SETH "ELIMINATED" ROLLINS#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 One-on-one now, Cena and Punk exchanged finishers and near falls before Rollins hit a Stomp on Punk. Cena jumped into action and locked in an STF on Punk, who passed out and the referee called for the bell. ๐Ÿ˜”#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 John Cena def. CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Logan Paul, Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre in 32:40 Order of eliminations 1st: Drew McIntyre (Entered 1st, Eliminated by Damian Priest) 2nd: Damian Priest (Entered 3rd, Eliminated by Logan Paul) 3rd: Logan Paul (Entered 4th, Eliminated by CM Punk) 4th: Seth Rollins (Entered 2nd, Eliminated by CM Punk) 5th: CM Punk (Entered 6th, Eliminated by John Cena) Winner: John Cena (Entered 5th) Sami Zayn was first to enter, which was an interesting contrasting moment considering the expected brutal nature of this match. Zayn's cheery, ska-style music and response from the crowd was energetic in a seemingly serious moment. After brief cheers when Owens' music initially hit, the crowd jeered the Prize Fighter as he made his way to the ring, never taking his eyes off Zayn in the process. When the bell rang, both men stared at one another and circled before ultimately trading heavy blows in the center of the ring. The first major swing of the match came as Owens dumped Zayn onto the ropes with a suplex and hit a senton. Action moved outside the ring for a brief period where Zayn gained an advantage and introduced steel chairs into the match. Owens used the chair to his advantage, punishing Zayn before going for Zayn's head, which he avoided. As Owens hit the top rope with the chair, it ricocheted back and hit himself in the head. From there on out, Zayn went on the offensive, using the steel chairs and even a hockey stick to punish Owens. Owens rolled out of the ring and Zayn made the fans happy by stalking him and pulling out a table from under the ring. You know it's a Canadian brawl when the hockey stick comes out. #WWEChamber โ€” Netflix Canada (@Netflix_CA) March 2, 2025 As Zayn set up the table, Owens recovered and turned the tables, using the hockey stick and setting up a table of his own on top of Zayn's. Zayn went after Owens and the fight spilled out into the Rogers Centre crowd. Among their fellow Canadians, Zayn was able to take control with the help of a trash can and a pair of modified Blue Thunder Bombs through tables, drawing "this is awesome" chants. TABLES&TABLES&TABLES&TABLES&TABLES#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Action returned to the ringside area and Owens regained the upper hand by hitting Zayn with the ring bell and a monitor from the announce table. Both men were perched atop the turnbuckle before Owens was able to shove Zayn off and through the two tables set up ringside. Owens continued his onslaught by landing a Fisherman's Buster onto a steel chair for a near-fall. Zayn launched a lightning quick offensive after countering a Pop-up Powerbomb, landing two exploder suplexes and going for a Helluva Kick on Owens. Owen's yanked official Rod Zapata into harm's way before he was able to hit a Stunner on Zayn and go for the pin. Referee Charles Robinson sprinted to the ring to count, but Zayn kicked out and Owens clotheslined Robinson. Two WWE referees just got attacked and laid out in under a minute! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Frustrated, Owens set up a third table in the ring and laid Zayn atop it, lining up a frog splash. Zayn grabbed the chair that was placed on his chest and threw it at Owens on the top turnbuckle. Zayn looked primed for a Superplex but Owens countered into a Fisherman's Buster through the table. Zayn meekly kicked out of the ensuing pin and the match continued. Owens taunted Zayn in the corner before running to the opposite one but was met with a Helluva Kick. Zayn went for a cover but Owens kicked out. Zayn retreated outside the ring to get more chairs, including one covered in barbed wire. Zayn used the weapon to hit Owens twice and then sent the Prize Fighter face-first into it with a drop-toe hold. Zayn looked primed for the win after landing a Blue Thunder Bomb onto the barbed-wire chair but Owens managed to kick out. BARBED WIRE CHAIRS?! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Both men retreated to opposite corners and Zayn went for a Helluva Kick but was met with a Pop-up Powerbomb by Owens. Zayn rolled out of the ring and Owens grabbed a chair to set Zayn's injured neck up inside of. Owens sent the chair-trapped Zayn into the ringpost twice and powerbombed Zayn onto the ring apron twice. Deja vu.#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Owens rolled Zayn back into the ring for the win. Kevin Owens def. Sami Zayn in 27:35 After the bell, medical personnel and WWE security came to the ring to attend to Zayn and escort Owens away. Owens made it about halfway up the ramp before turning back and ripping up the ringside padding, looking for a package piledriver on Zayn. As Owens was set to deliver the move, Randy Orton's music hit and the Viper went after Owens and hit him with an RKO. Orton teased a chair shot but instead lined up a punt kick. WWE officials intervened and stopped him from doing it. Orton then RKO'd several WWE security members. He's baaaaaaaack! ๐Ÿ#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 That RKO was months in the making! ๐Ÿ’ฅ#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Nia Jax and Candice LeRae were first to enter, working heel โ€” brilliantly in Jax's case as she paused to reject a young fan's request for a high five. Trish Stratus entered, clad in Toronto Maple Leafs blue and white and a jacket adorned with her logos throughout her 25-year career in WWE. Stratton followed and had matching gear โ€” always an excellent touch even for hastily put-together teams like this. WWE Hall of Famer and TORONTO'S OWN @trishstratuscom is ready to rock n' roll at #WWEChamber! โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Stratus and LeRae started the action off, but Jax and Stratton quickly got involved and after just a minute, all four women were outside the ring. When action returned inside the ropes, the heels took control and isolated Stratton from her corner and Stratus. Stratton countered an attempted AnNIAhilator finisher and managed to get the hot tag to Stratus. Stratus maintained momentum, utilizing a tornado DDT and spinebuster on Jax and LeRae, respectively. Stratus went for Stratusfaction but Jax simply carried her into a belly-to-back suplex and began to punish the WWE Hall of Famer. LeRae kept up the abuse as she tagged in, opting for submission holds to keep Stratus on the defensive. As Jax lined up a hip attack and the heels continued to isolate Stratus, the crowd chanted "we want Tiffy." LeRae and Stratus took each other out with face plants before Stratus was finally able to get to her corner for the hot tag to Stratton. Stratton cleaned house quickly, picking up the pace to the fastest it had been to this point in the match. Stratton went for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever but LeRae shook the ropes and forced her to take an ugly looking fall. Stratton had to fight back to tag in Stratus and chaos broke out again. Jax was set up on the top rope before Stratus was able to recover and hit an avalanche bulldog โ€” dubbed Super Stratusfaction โ€” and set up the closing sequence. After LeRae broke up Stratus' pinfall attempt, Stratton found her way back into the ring and hit a Prettiest Moonsault Ever on Jax to pick up the win. VINTAGE TRISH! ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus def. Nia Jax and Candice LeRae in 11:40. The night kicks off with the Women's Elimination Chamber, with a championship match against either Rhea Ripley or Iyo Sky awaiting the winner at WrestleMania 41. Alexa Bliss was first to come out, she has won the Elimination Chamber match before โ€” the inaugural women's match, in fact. Bliss received a solid pop but nothing compared to her surprise return at the Royal Rumble last month. Former NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez followed, but despite her meteoric start to 2025, received a relatively calm reception from the fans. Perez taunted Bliss, already locked in her pod, and then posed on the turnbuckle directly in front of her opponent. Bayley was third out, and had been involved recently in a feud with Perez, which was something to watch entering the match. Despite being a tag team, Bianca Belair and Naomi got individual entrances. Belair was the winning pick for three of Uncrowned's Horsemen. With four women locked inside their pods, the match would start off between Liv Morgan and Naomi โ€” who entered 5th and 6th, respectively. As soon as the bell rang, Jade Cargill's music hit and she entered the open Chamber. Instead of attacking Morgan โ€” who was suspected to be Cargill's attackers โ€” she turned on Naomi as Belair frantically reacted trapped in her pod. The crowd loved the surprise, chanting "let them fight" as officials tried to separate the two and remove Cargill from the structure. Before leaving, Cargill slammed the cage door on Naomi. JADE CARGILL IS BACK!And wait what the hell?! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 This is ... disturbing.#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Naomi was announced as being unable to compete in the match and therefore eliminated. The next pod opened very shortly after, with Belair entering the match. Belair rushed to check on Naomi and Morgan pounced, attacking the former tag champion. Belair recovered relatively quickly and the two exchanged blows and counters for a short period. Both women scored near-falls while the match remained one-on-one. After a moonsault into a pin attempt by Belair, the second pod opened and Perez joined the fray. Perez immediately picked up the pace, landing high-impact maneuvers and scoring a near-fall on Morgan. Perez and Belair showed off their contrasting styles of speed and strength before the Prodigy landed a Russian leg sweep into the steel chain wall of the Chamber. Morgan capitalized with her two opponents distracted, attacking Perez and going for the first pinfall elimination of the match on Perez. The third pod opened, unleashing Bayley, who immediately attacked Perez, renewing their rivalry. Bayley then took out Morgan and set up a clash with Belair. Bayley gained the upper hand on Belair with a sunset flip powerbomb into the turnbuckle and then a top-rope crossbody, going for pins after each move. As Bayley scaled the turnbuckle again, Perez leaped into action, powerbombing Bayley and and following up with a top-rope move. Two more near-falls ensued as Perez went to pin Bayley but then was victimized by a Codebreaker from Morgan. Bliss entered around the 14:30 mark, and unloaded on Perez, Morgan and Bayley, scoring a near-fall on the Role Model. Action devolved relatively quickly with all five women attacking one another across all parts of the Chamber. With Bayley distracted attacking Morgan, Perez pounced and locked Bayley in a Crossface submission and the action remained focused on these two for a few minutes. Once Bayley was freed of Perez, Morgan capitalized and hit ObLIVion and eliminated Bayley as the match time passed 19 minutes. Morgan and Belair ascended atop one of the pods and battled before the latter very audibly whipped Morgan with her braid and sent her to the floor. Belair followed up with a crossbody from the top of the pod to take out Perez and Morgan. Belair went for unsuccessful pins on both women before all four of the remaining competitors came together for a Tower of Doom spot. Perez appeared to be in line for an elimination of her own, going for Pop Rox but Belair countered, sending the Prodigy directly into a Codebreaker from Morgan and a Twisted Bliss from Bliss, who eliminated Perez at the 23 minute mark. Down to the final three โ€” Morgan, Bliss and Belair โ€” Morgan hit Belair with the Three Amigos and set her up for a 619. Chaos ensued shortly after with Bliss going for a Sister Abigail on Morgan, finally landing one on Belair and then being quickly eliminated at around 25:30 as Morgan rolled Bliss up and used Belair's braid as leverage. And we are now down to TWO!#WWEChamber โ€” WWE (@WWE) March 2, 2025 Belair and Morgan battled one-on-one again, but Belair used her strength advantage to batter Morgan, slamming her repeatedly against the steel chains and pod before powerbombing her back into the ring. The closing stages had Belair and Morgan exchanging counters to each others' finishers before Belair caught Morgan going for ObLIVion and hit a KOD to pick up the win.
