49ers stance on Rangers Amazon Prime documentary revealed after Wrexham blockbuster
The American consortium are set to plough a further lump sum into Gers' coffers later this month when they underwrite a £20million share issue.
New Rangers chiefs have ruled out a Wrexham-style TV documentary.
Andrew Cavenagh has taken over as Ibrox chairman after joining forces with the San Francisco 49ers to complete a £75million takeover.
The American consortium are set to plough a further lump sum into Gers' coffers later this month when they underwrite a £20million share issue.
But Record Sport understands they have no plans to fund that cash injection by following the lead of new English Championship outfit Wrexham.
The Welsh side are owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who have used their involvement with the club as the basis for a warts-and-all TV series broadcast around the world on streaming service Disney+.
The show's success - combined with three successive promotion campaigns that have propelled the club from non-league status to the second tier down south - means the Wrexham's value has soared from the initial £2million sum Reynolds and McElhenney paid when they bought the Red Dragons in 2021.
Latest estimates now suggest the Racecourse outfit could be worth as much as £350m.
Some Rangers fans have speculated whether their own club's US owners might follow suit and invite cameras in to film the behind-the-scenes goings-on at Ibrox.
But a Stateside source says that won't be a project that will interest Paraag Marathe, the senior 49ers exec who is now doubling up as Leeds chairman with a role deputising Cavenagh on the board at Rangers.
They told us: "That's just not the 49ers style. If you look at the how they have operated in America, they have never gotten involved in that.
"There is a Amazon Prime documentary series, All or Nothing, that goes to a different NFL side each season and spends a year following them week to week.
"But the 49ers owner Jed York just isn't interested in that kind of thing so the 49ers have always declined it. On that basis I just can't see them being interested in that kind of programme at Rangers.
"There was a Leeds documentary a few years back that followed them the year they won promotion to the Premier League, but that was organised by Andrea Radrizzani, who was the majority shareholder at that time, with the 49ers only holding a minority stake. I can't see it being repeated at Rangers."
