Derailed freight train causes rail disruption
Rail services have been disrupted after a freight train derailed. Greater Anglia reported the incident at Great Yarmouth in Norfolk at about 18:00 GMT. The rail operator said it did not have a timeframe for when the line, between Norwich and Great Yarmouth via Acle, would reopen. Response teams were at the scene and were inspecting any damage to the rail infrastructure, a spokesperson said on X. They said it had arranged for replacement buses to run between Norwich and Great Yarmouth, calling at Acle only, in both directions. Trains continue to run between Norwich, Brunsdall, Lingwood and Acle. Passengers with tickets for trains between Norwich and Great Yarmouth would be permitted to use the X1 Coastlink service between the city and coastal town.
