Major warning for Irish tourists as Spain battered by 30mm of rain in horror storms AND ‘intensely hot' 37C temperatures
A MAJOR warning has been issued for Irish holidaymakers in Spain as a heatwave and stormy conditions are set to hit at the same time.

Aemet have issued a series of weather warning across mainland
And the warnings cover heavy rain and wind and then extreme temperatures.
A few areas around the coast have escaped without being placed under an alert but most regions are facing a turbulent few days of weather.
Warnings are in place into the weekend, with the majority of the country facing storm havoc.

The middle of Spain is most at risk from these stormy downpours, with orange warnings in place and 30mm of rain expected in areas.
The rest of the regions under a yellow alert can still expect around 15mm of rain amid the storm.
This will begin to ease overnight with the vast majority of warnings for rainfall and thunder lifted by tomorrow.
However, a few key regions just above Madrid will remain under a yellow alert tomorrow.

Issuing a warning over the storms Aemet said: "They can come with heavy showers, large hail and very strong gusts of wind."
Thunderstorms will begin to develop across Spain from today.
Posting on social media Aemet warned: "Wednesday will be marked by the formation of thunderstorms.
"They could be very strong and accompanied by large hail and strong gusts of wind, especially in areas of Castile and León and Galicia, with the possibility of storms occurring in other parts of the central and northern peninsula."
TEMPERATURE WARNING
On the east of the peninsula several regions remain under a severe temperature alert with mercury nearly at 40C in several areas.
Temperatures are set to reach a whopping 37C in parts today and will continue at a scorching 36C into the weekend.
And those temperatures will soar in key tourist spots such as Barcelona, Girona and Zaragoza.
Aemet warned: "Temperatures will be more typical of July.
"Today and tomorrow will be intensely hot, with highs above 36°C in the central and inland-southern parts of the Iberian Peninsula and the Ebro Valley.
"Highs are also expected in the Ebro Valley on Wednesday."
