Two arrested in Holyoke traffic stop connected to shots fired incident
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Two suspects were arrested in Holyoke on Tuesday in connection with a shots fired investigation. Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan stated in a social media post that at approximately 9:55 p.m. on Sunday, officers received a report of shots fired in the area of East Dwight Street and Center Street. Approximately 13 shell casings were located, but no victims or property damage was found. Springfield police seize gun and drugs from suspect found in Hennessy Park Police began an investigation into the incident and identified two suspects, 42-year-old Glenn Jacobs of Holyoke and 20-year-old Xavier Medina of Springfield. Officers were granted a warrant for their arrest. On Tuesday, members of the Hampden County Narcotics Task Force, including Holyoke officers, conducted an unrelated traffic stop at approximately 4:05 p.m. near the intersection of Lyman Street and Open Square Way. Troopers discovered that Jacobs was the driver and Medina was a passenger of the vehicle, and both were arrested. Serial drive-by shooter arrested in Newark: PD
(KRON) — The Newark Police Department said it has made an arrest in a series of drive-by shootings that began last December. Man convicted in random Tenderloin mob attack stabbing: SF DA Police said Xavier Medina, 19, of Newark, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, and committing a felony while on bail. Newark PD said there were three consecutive drive-by shootings on Dec. 20, 2024 which started in Union City and culminated with back-to-back shootings in Newark — one on Arrowhead Place and another on Noel Avenue. Police said an individual sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in the Noel Avenue incident. Newark PD said another drive-shooting on Feb. 24 damaged a home and several cars on Spruce Street. Medina was taken into custody on April 1 in Oakland. Police believe he is behind three of the shootings. 'We will not tolerate acts of violence against our community and remain committed to bringing those responsible to justice,' said Chief Jonathan Arguello of NPD. This remains an open and active case.
