Lahj – Saba: Lahj Governor Ahmed Jarib, accompanied by Province Undersecretary Faisal al-Faqih and al-Qabaita District Director Wahid al-Khidr, on Saturday reviewed the progress of Damran Dam clearing project. Hajjah Electricity: Intensive Efforts to Improve Services : Report
Hajjah - Saba: During the first half of the year 1446 AH, Hajjah Electricity continued its efforts to improve the services provided to citizens and expand the subscriber base across the remaining districts. The region's electricity department was committed to working in accordance with the directives of the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council, the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water, as well as the plans and programs of the General Electricity Corporation and the local authority in the province. The priority was to implement projects and activities that would develop and sustain this vital sector. "It focused on improvement and maintenance work for pressure networks, power lines, and transformer stations. This included the establishment of medium-pressure networks to expand the distribution system and accommodate new subscribers. Additionally, efforts were made to rehabilitate and maintain transformers, implement precautionary measures against lightning strikes, and connect meters to extend the service area and restore service to previous subscribers. The work also involved installing drums to collect meters of various sizes, aimed at improving service, reducing losses, and replacing step-down transformers. Furthermore, displacement and improvement efforts were carried out on the distribution system in several areas." A report issued by the Electricity of Hajjah Region, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), stated that the number of projects and activities implemented during the first half amounted to 14 projects and activities worth 106 million and 677 thousand YER, while it aims to implement projects in the second half worth more than 860 million riyals. The report explained that a project was implemented to install and extend ABC cables and meter drums to introduce new subscribers to the directorates, remove and improve the 11 kV and 0.4 kV networks, replace insulators and angles, and disassemble, remove and reinstall 3ph 1ph meters in Sharis market. It stated that 25 kva step-down transformers were replaced in the governorate center and 200 kva and a 0.4/11 kva step-down transformer with a capacity of 50 kva in Al-Mahbasha and install a 0.4/11 kva step-down transformer with a capacity of 15 kva to introduce new subscribers in Kahlan Afar and expand the system and rehabilitate. The report pointed out the establishment of medium-pressure networks to expand the distribution system and introduce new subscribers to al-Khashm and al-Ma'arras triangle by installing an Abc network of different sizes and meter collection drums with different capacities, in addition to installing 12-meter and 8-meter meter collection drums to improve and reduce losses in the directorates. The report pointed out that emergency maintenance was carried out on the 33 kV transmission lines, Qanawis Abs, replacing broken insulators, comprehensive emergency maintenance of the 11 kV lines, as well as replacing broken poles with all accessories and installing tension units in the governorate center and Abs. According to the report, maintenance activities and projects included installing breakers in the 11/33 kV transformer station for the main feeder and the F2 feeder in the governorate center and improving the high-pressure network in Ain Ali to raise the descending lines and remove the danger, in addition to maintaining transformers in the directorates of Al-Sharfain Square. He stated that the project of installing and connecting meters and service to new subscribers and improving and restoring service to previous subscribers for a number of 691 subscribers in the region and branches was implemented, as well as installing an integrated grounding unit to protect the region's building and devices from lightning. While Director of Electricity in the region Abdulrahman Thabet confirmed the region's keenness, in coordination and cooperation with the institution, to implement 11 projects and activities during the second half of this year, worth 862 million and 593 thousand riyals, to advance the electricity sector in the governorate. Thabet explained that these projects include providing a generator with a capacity of 1 megawatt for al-Mahabesha Power Plant to ensure the continuity of service in the directorates of al-Sharfain Square, providing spare parts and maintenance of the generator of al-Meftah Power Plant district, establishing a high-pressure connection line with a length of 1 kilometer and 500 meters to connect the solar power plant and connect it to the Abs conversion station, and rehabilitating and improving the distribution system in the district. Among the projects that will be implemented are establishing a high and medium pressure network and supplying the Bani Siraj, Habil Al-Ghaz and Deir Al-Hassi areas with electricity and introducing new subscribers, in addition to completing the expansion of the distribution system in al-Ma'arras market. The projects also include, according to the Director of Electricity, completing the rehabilitation works of the distribution system in Kuhlan Afar district, the second and third phases, completing the expansion works, improving the system, installing meter collection drums, and introducing new subscribers, in addition to installing a 33 kV measurement unit at the beginning of the Hajjah line and installing an ARC breaker at the beginning of the Zahra line, in addition to expanding the service circle in Mabin and introducing new subscribers. The Director of Electricity appreciated the interest of the institution's leadership in the electricity sector in the province and its keenness to overcome difficulties and provide the necessary support to develop the service provided to citizens and the role of the province's leadership in overcoming the difficulties faced. Mahweet emergency unit representative inspects progress of al-Masna'a road paving project in Malhan

Raymah launches economic empowerment project for martyrs' families
Raymah - Saba: The branch of the General Authority for the Care of the Families of Martyrs in Raymah province, in coordination with al-Jabin Agricultural Development Association, launched on Monday the first phase of an economic empowerment project for 17 families of martyrs and missing persons in al-Jabin district. The project, which was funded at a cost of 14 million YER, aims to improve the living conditions of beneficiary families by providing them with economic support and opportunities for self-reliance. Province Undersecretary of Raymah stressed the importance of supporting the families of martyrs and missing persons and expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Authority and al-Jabin Agricultural Association in implementing this project. Agricultural projects financing unit in Hajjah.. Remarkable development in serving community: Report
Hajjah - Saba: Hajjah province has witnessed a remarkable development in the implementation of agricultural projects since the establishment of the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects Financing Unit in the province. The unit was keen to work in accordance with the directives of the wise revolutionary leadership and the strategic direction of the Supreme Political Council to enhance individual and community sufficiency, and encourage agricultural, livestock and fishery activity "belonging, identity, steadfastness and development". During the past year 1445 AH and the current half of the year, the unit contributed to empowering small farmers and establishing small projects that gain them productive assets and provide them with a sustainable income that secures them a decent living. It also played a role in financing agricultural studies and research with economic feasibility and income-intensive production and sustainable production of improved strains that solve most of our agricultural problems in a proactive step that enhances the steadfastness of the people in producing their own food by relying on Allah. The unit paid attention to reclaiming agricultural lands, constructing water barriers and building dams to ensure supplying the local and foreign market with various types of fruits, vegetables and grains with high quality and reasonable prices. A report issued by the unit indicated that 205 million and 932 thousand YER were spent during the mentioned period out of the unit's total contribution of 301 million and 926 thousand YER in implementing the activities and tasks of the agricultural sector and supporting bodies within the institutional and social building and the development of land and water resources and the plant and fish sector and agricultural and media guidance. In institutional building, the report stated that the unit contributed to the maintenance of agricultural equipment and means of transportation in the districts of Abs, Bani Qais, the province center, Mustaba, al-Shaghaderah and Bakil al-Mir with an amount of 55 million and 599 thousand YER. The report indicated that the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects Financing Unit contributed to social building by financing agricultural and fisheries projects in support of community and voluntary initiatives and works at a cost of 7 million and 954 thousand YER. The report refuted the type of support and intervention in completing the implementation of Sayed Harbat Sayed Road project in the province center and supporting the community in Khairan al Muharraq with an amount of (3000) liters of diesel to transport sand and cut stones for Shabat al Sada Dam project. The unit also contributed, according to the report, to renting a warehouse for the amount of cement allocated for community initiatives for Khairan al-Muharraq Agricultural Cooperative Society, Khairan al Muharraq, and renting and granting an in-kind loan of 10,000 liters of diesel to the Abs Agricultural Cooperative Society and two thousand liters to the Bani Qais Society. According to the report, the unit contributed to supporting the College of Agriculture in Abs with an amount of 6 million YER to develop agricultural and fisheries education and establish, maintain and rehabilitate colleges and institutes (providing needs) and prepare training programs and support summer courses with an amount of 1 million and 615 thousand YER. The Agricultural and Fisheries Projects Financing Unit provided an amount of 60 million YER to Bunyan Foundation for training and qualifying agricultural and fisheries cadres and cooperative societies and activating community participation from the total value of the project, which cost 170 million YER. In the development of land resources, the report explained the unit's support for a number of agricultural land reclamation projects in a number of districts with an amount of 45 million and 867 thousand YER as a first installment of the unit's total contribution of 116 million and 686 thousand YER. According to the report, the projects included contributing to supporting Bakil al-Mir Association for the Reclamation of Agricultural Lands and providing (32,500) liters of diesel in Bakil al-Mir and supporting the local council in Haradh with 32 thousand liters of diesel to reclaim agricultural lands in the directorate and supporting the efforts of Mustaba Agricultural Association with 6 thousand and 800 liters to reclaim lands in al-Raq'i in Wadi al-Hawl in the district. The contribution included supporting the Abs Agricultural Cooperative Association to protect earthen barriers and open irrigation channels in Wadi Habl and providing 6 thousand liters of diesel as part of the project to protect agricultural lands from erosion and desertification in the directorate, in addition to supporting the efforts of Qafl Shammar Association to protect agricultural lands in Wadi Ayal Qafl Shammar. It included field visits to the targeted districts and preparing field studies, surveys and other studies in the management and exploitation of valley sands in the province. The report stated that the unit provided 6 million and 700 thousand YER in water resources development projects as a first phase to rehabilitate Imam Canal in Bani Qais district and rehabilitate flood irrigation systems (construction, maintenance and cleaning of canals) out of the unit's total contribution of 31 million and 974 thousand YER. According to the report, the cost of plant sector development projects amounted to 18 million and 399 thousand and 600 YER and represented in developing the plant sector and providing 3 thousand coffee seedlings to a number of districts. It included supporting the agricultural sector in the province according to the report in expanding the cultivation of grains and legumes and providing pesticides to the Aslam Agricultural Cooperative Society. The Agricultural and Fisheries Projects Financing Unit implemented agricultural education and documentation programs via Hajjah Radio to enhance community awareness of the importance of moving towards agriculture and providing media tools to document the work accomplished at a cost of two million and 752 thousand YER. The report indicated that the unit supported the conduct of value chain studies for fish production at a cost of 945 thousand YER to develop the fisheries sector. The report explained that the next phase will witness the enhancement of work in the management of financing for implementing agricultural, animal and fisheries projects and initiatives in accordance with the principles of justice, transparency, accountability, efficiency and quality, within the framework of the applicable legislation and agricultural, animal and fisheries development policies and plans. It stressed the keenness of the unit's board of directors to work in accordance with the tasks for which the unit was established in mobilizing the necessary financial resources to finance the implementation of agricultural, animal and fisheries projects for the administrative unit based on self-initiatives and cooperatives.
