Illegal bovine smuggler gang externed from city for 15 days
Nagpur: Seven members of a notorious cattle smuggler gang have been externed from Nagpur city limits for 15 days following orders issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2), Rahul Madane.

The move comes ahead of Bakri Eid, with police anticipating potential threats to public order due to the gang's repeated involvement in illegal cattle-related activities.
The seven accused have been identified as Tanveer Qureshi (34), from Gaddigodam; Md Irshad alias Badshah Qureshi (44), residing near Gaddigodam Masjid; Saheb alias Shobi Noor Qureshi (35), a resident of Gaddigodam; Md Imran Zahir Qureshi (27) from Gaddigodam; Raheel Qureshi (36) and Asib Qureshi (36), residing opposite YMCA Gym, Gaddigodam, have been linked to multiple cases involving slaughter and transport of banned cattle breeds.
Police said the gang has operated brazenly within the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station, showing no regard for the law while instilling fear in the local population. Despite previous legal action, including a six-month externment, they resumed their operations.
Officers noted that the gang's activities have endangered the safety of citizens and also led to rising tensions in the area. Several accused have cases pending at Thane and Hingna police stations.
