Motorcycle driver sustains life-threatening injuries during collision in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, (WBOY) — The Monongalia County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a two-vehicle accident sent one to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to a release from the sheriff's office, deputies responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Mileground Road and Hartman Run Road in Morgantown on Wednesday, May 29. The accident involved a Nissan Xterra and a Yamaha Cruiser motorcycle. The release said that preliminary investigations indicated that the Nissan attempted to make a left turn onto Hartman Run Road as the motorcycle was traveling on Mileground Road. The two collided, and the driver of the motorcycle was ejected and landed off of the road, the release said. 3 hospitalized in Preston County wreck on US 50 Mon EMS responded to the scene and transported the male motorcycle driver to Ruby Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Brookhaven and Star City Volunteer Fire Departments also responded. The release said that because the crash was so severe, the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office Reconstruction Team was also called to the scene to assist with the investigation, and that more information will be released when it becomes available. Article content A 45-year-old man is dead after the motorcycle he was riding struck the Calder Community League in Edmonton, police said Saturday. On Friday at 11:30 p.m., officers said they responded to a report about a 2012 Yamaha Cruiser motorcycle that 'collided with the side of' a building near 128 Avenue and 120 Street. The motorcycle was 'travelling at a high rate of speed' east on 128 Avenue toward 120 Street, according to police, adding they believe speed was a factor in the crash.
