Southern California man, 33, killed after losing control of motorcycle

A 33-year-old man from San Bernardino County involved in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash over the weekend has succumbed to his injuries and died, officials announced. The victim, Andrew Herrera, a resident of Apple Valley, was traveling eastbound on a dirt easement along Otoe Road, west of Cheyenne Road on March 15 when he lost control of his motorcycle, a blue 2024 Yamaha XTZ 690, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. When the motorcycle flipped, Herrera, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected. Deputies from the sheriff department's Apple Valley Station responded to the scene just before 7:30 p.m. and found the 33-year-old suffering from major injuries. Herrera was rushed to the hospital by ambulance where he later succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased.
