ALBAWABA – Dubai is set to introduce robot delivery services soon through the Yango Group, a tech ecosystem that offers ride-hailing, public transport data, delivery, e-grocery, adtech, maps, entertainment services, an AI voice assistant, and more. Yango Technologies rolls out robot grocery delivery
Yango Technologies is rolling out robot grocery delivery in Dubai using a pod with a capacity of approximately 60 liters. The pod can climb obstacles up to 10 cm high and easily cross roads.
Nikita Gavrilov, regional head of Yango Tech Autonomy, Middle East, stated: 'Over 40 per cent of people who were ordering selected the robot for delivery, when they see that it is an option. They want to see this fully electric, innovative thing come to their building door in 20 minutes, delivering their food and groceries. It is very exciting.'
Notably, the new service will launch in partnership with Roots Food Group—a vertically integrated food manufacturer that develops, owns, markets, and distributes branded food products—as well as Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
According to Yango Technologies, the pod was successfully tested and completed deliveries within a 2 km radius in under 30 minutes. Also Read Meet the AI robot from UAE that picks strawberries
