Yanic Konan Neiderhauser declares for NBA draft
UNIVERSITY PARK (Nittany Nation) — One of the key returning pieces for Penn State basketball next season may not be returning after all, now that 7-footer Yanic Konan Neiderhauser declared for the NBA draft Wednesday.
YKN posted on social media that he intended to explore his professional options while maintaining his final year of collegiate eligibility. If he withdraws from the draft he will return to Happy Valley.

In 2019 new draft eligibility rules began allowing players to hire agents and go through the entire draft process before deciding if they wanted to return to college. Players who want to return must withdraw their name from the NBA draft by June 15th, or, players who were invited to the NBA combine can stay in the process until the Monday after the draft which this year is June 25-26. Any player drafted immediately loses all remaining eligibility.
A native of Switzerland, YKN came to Penn State last season after two years at Northern Illinois. He scored 12.9 points-per-game, while recording 6.3 rebounds-per-game. If he returns he'll have one final year of eligibility.
