Nothing is gearing up for the big launch, unveiling its first true flagship – the Nothing Phone 3. The company has just confirmed that the launch will take place on July 1 at 22:30 IST. While the Phone 3 is certainly generating hype, the event may not focus solely on the handset. Rumours suggest that, alongside the Phone 3, Nothing might also unveil its first pair of over-ear to a new leak shared by tipster @MysteryLupin on X, the upcoming Nothing Phone 3 could be priced starting at $799 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, with a higher-end 16GB + 512GB model expected at $899. However, the leaker also claims that what's even more interesting is that Nothing may use the same July launch window to introduce its first – over-ear headphones dubbed Nothing Headphone to the leaks the rumoured Nothing Headphone 1, could arrive at a price tag of $299 and could arrive with the Nothing Phone 3 phone with a broader rollout expected by 30 September. While Nothing has not officially confirmed the headphone launch yet, the company has hinted about the product several times. In a recently published behind-the-scenes video titled 'We're making over-ear headphones,' Nothing's design team openly criticised most existing premium headphones, claiming they don't admire a single one currently available on the market. They even mocked Sony's latest $450 headphones, calling it a bit fatter. The remarks have fuelled speculation that Nothing is working on premium headphones at a relatively affordable price the upcoming headphones are expected to feature translucent materials, following the Nothing's distinctive design language. Many fans speculate the product will be called Nothing Head 1 – a name which was shared with the concept designs by Yanko Design in 2022. Interestingly, Nothing CEO Carl Pei also praised the design and called them 'crazy cool.'In fact, the possibility of Nothing headphones was also hinted at in the company's recent partnership with UK-based audio firm KEF. Nothing said the partnership "will support Nothing's expansion into new audio categories – with several acoustically co-developed products already in the works and launching later this year." According to reports, the over-ear headphones are likely the first product to arrive from this collaboration.

Nothing is launching its first headphones soon, claims they are better than Apple AirPods Max

Back in 2022, Nothing CEO Carl Pei shared concept visuals of a futuristic headphone design crafted by Yanko Design, cheekily naming it 'Crazy cool Nothing Head (1)'. What was once a playful idea is now becoming a reality. In a newly released behind-the-scenes video on Nothing's official YouTube channel, the company has confirmed that it will launch its first headphones soon. Talking about the upcoming audio device, Nothing positioned it as rival to Apple's AirPods Max and Sony's WH-1000XM6. advertisementNothing confirms its first headphones After years of teasing and concept renders, Nothing is finally preparing to launch its first pair of over-ear headphones — and they're arriving sooner than expected. The company has officially confirmed that the new audio product will debut this year, with a summer release likely on the cards. Design remains central to Nothing's ethos. In the video, company designers express clear dissatisfaction with current market offerings, admitting they 'don't like a single' existing headphone design. They emphasise a desire to simplify button interactions and improve usability, aiming for a more intuitive user experience. Without giving out many details, the designers say that the upcoming Nothing headphones will be unique, "that says something about you". advertisement Price-wise, Nothing is promising a more accessible alternative to the 'really expensive' AirPods Max. Despite this, performance doesn't appear to be compromised as claimed by the company. Sound quality is described as a priority, with one team member confidently claiming, 'I think they're better than AirPods Max.' The brand also plans to engage its community for feedback to refine the final with KEFThe new headphones are the first fruits of a recently announced partnership with renowned British audio brand KEF. A spokesperson for Nothing confirmed the collaboration, saying it will 'support Nothing's expansion into new audio categories,' with several co-engineered products due out later this year. Nothing headphones: Launch timelineNothing's anticipated over-ear headphones are expected to make their debut within the next few months. The summer launch window, nonetheless, fits within the company's pattern of mid-year unveilings and is in line with previous product release cycles. While the company hasn't provided an exact release date, the timing appears to be strategically aligned with the forthcoming launch of the Nothing Phone (3), which is widely rumoured to arrive in July simultaneous release of both devices would not only strengthen Nothing's expanding ecosystem but also make for a compelling marketing move, offering users a cohesive audio and smartphone experience. However, at present, this remains speculative, as official confirmation on the timeline is still awaited.

Nothing Teases New Over-Ear Headphones That Are 'Better Than AirPods Max' But Cost Much Less

Every since Yanko Design created some concept photos of Nothing over-ear headphones back in 2022, Nothing fans have been hoping they would become a real product, especially after Nothing founder Carl Pei called the designs "crazy cool" in a social media post. Well, now Nothing has posted a video of its product design team discussing over-ear headphones entitled "We're making over-ear headphones." They'll be released this summer, according to the video, and rival the AirPods Max in terms of sound quality but cost a lot less. Read more: Best noise-canceling headphones of 2025 To a certain degree, the designers spend much of the video trashing premium over-ear cans and come across as super arrogant. "We don't really like a single over-ear headphone that's on the market," one designer says. And at the start of the video we hear them mocking the name of the new $450 Sony WH-1000XM6 and commenting about the headband being a little "fatter." Although Yanko Design's post from 2022 refers to the headphones as the Nothing Head (1), which would be a pretty logical name for the headphones (or simply Nothing Head), the video doesn't mention what the name for the new Nothing over-ear headphones will be or how much they'll cost. Presumably the headphones will have some of the same translucent elements that help distinguish the company's earbuds from other noise-canceling buds on the market. Its $150 Nothing Ear buds are on CNET's list of best wireless earbuds and best noise-canceling earbuds and its $130 Nothing Ear (Open) buds are on our list of best open earbuds. I look forward to testing the Nothing over-ear headphones when they're released this summer. Hopefully, they live up to the hype and are as good a value as the designers say they will be.

Engineers develop revolutionary replacement for ubiquitous pharmacy item — and it could hit shelves soon

Parcel Health, a pharmaceutical packaging company dedicated to protecting people and preserving the planet, has invented a paper-based prescription medication bottle. According to Yanko Design, the new prescription bottles, called Tully Tubes, are made mostly of 100% sustainably sourced paper. Each year, roughly 194 billion prescription bottles are used, according to Cabinet Health. Most are not recycled. Instead, they head to landfills, where they contribute to air, water, and soil pollution. Parcel Health's new approach to prescription bottles uses a paper base made with certified, sustainably sourced paper and curbside recyclable materials. It's approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and is the first of its kind to be approved for use in the pharmaceutical industry. Of course, a flimsy paper bottle isn't acceptable for important medications. That's why Tully Tubes are resistant to water, humidity, and heat. They use a three-layer construction to protect bottle contents from the elements, while a food-safe and compostable coating further safeguards pills from water. The child-safe bottle caps are made of post-consumer recycled plastic. The bottle cap and seal can be easily disconnected from the paper base, making it easy to recycle the plastic parts and compost the paper. These bottles are also more customizable for companies, as it's more affordable to add fun designs to paper than to plastic — making for a welcome change from the standard orange container. Tully Tubes perform as well as plastic bottles but don't strain the environment as much. The use of recycled plastic gives this material a second life and keeps it out of landfills for longer. Meanwhile, replacing the plastic body with paper substantially cuts down on plastic waste — means less dirty fuel mining for plastic creation, a process that significantly contributes to air and water pollution. All of these factors mean the pharmaceutical industry can keep serving consumers while reducing the opportunities for microplastics to enter our water, air, and soil — further helping to improve our health. Eco-friendly initiatives like this from brands can dramatically reduce pollution, curbing the planet's overheating and reducing the presence of harmful contaminants. When you think about a product's packaging, which of these factors is more important to you? The way it looks The information it provides The waste it produces I don't think about packaging at all Click your choice to see results and speak your mind. While Tully Tubes won't replace all those plastic bottles overnight, this invention is a wonderful step in the right direction.
