A patrol car and forensic van are currently parked up in the street at the end of a row of terraced homes. A blue forensic tent has been erected at the front of a block of flats while officers piece together "the circumstances of what has occurred". Officers were originally tasked with a missing person report before the two bodies were found at the property. Enquiries "remain ongoing today by detectives", police have said. In a short statement, West Yorkshire Police said: "Police attended at a flat on Dawlish Road, Leeds during the evening of Tuesday, May 29, after receiving a missing person's report for a woman. "Officers entered the address and found the bodies of a man and woman inside. Enquiries remain ongoing today by detectives to determine the circumstances of what has occurred." More to follow... Owen Lawrence, 38, was arrested following the incident in Headingley, Leeds, on Saturday and taken to hospital in a critical condition. Counter Terrorism Policing North East are continuing to conduct an investigation. West Yorkshire Police declared a major incident after the attack. Chilling footage shows the suspect appearing to wield an armoury of weapons as he strides down Otley Road shortly before 3pm. Dressed in dark clothing, he is seen darting around to expose a large object strapped to his back. Photos show what appear to be discarded weapons on the ground which were then seized by police. Head of Counter Terrorism Policing North East, Detective Chief Superintendent James Dunkerley said: 'Officers will continue to conduct enquiries and we ask that if anyone has information that may assist, to pass this to police. 'We understand there are concerns around the incident, and questions about how and why this has happened. Our teams are committed to carrying out an in-depth investigation to provide answers to those affected. 'We continue to work closely with West Yorkshire Police to support the local community and thank residents for their support and understanding over the weekend. 'Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and all those affected by this incident.' Local Bethany Connelly said that a man with a crossbow was seen in the area. She said: "I was at work at a nearby restaurant and some girls were sitting outside. "They asked if they could come in and finish what they were having because they'd seen someone with a crossbow. "This was all before the incident, and a few minutes later, we saw ambulances and police rushing down the roads. "The roads were getting blocked off, and we'd been told by police to keep everyone indoors and away from the area." Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said on Saturday her thoughts were with the victims of the incident in Leeds, adding she was being updated on the situation. In a statement, she said: "I am being kept updated on the serious violent incident in Leeds this afternoon. "Thank you to the police and emergency services for their swift response. All three were rushed to hospital - and the man, who has since been confirmed as the "key suspect," remains in a critical condition. Chilling footage from the area shows a figure dressed in dark clothing appearing to carry several weapons on his front and back. The man can be seen striding at pace, before quickly darting around to expose a large object strapped around his back. In an update on Sunday, the force said: "West Yorkshire Police were called to Otley Road, Leeds at 14:47 to reports of an ongoing serious incident involving a man seen with weapons. "Officers attended and located three people who had suffered injuries, two of which were women, aged 19 and 31. They were taken to hospital for treatment. "The third, a 38-year-old man was arrested and taken to hospital due to a self-inflicted injury. We can confirm this man is the key suspect, and he remains in hospital in a critical condition." His victims were aged 19 and 31. One was 'stable' after surgery to life-threatening injuries. The other was discharged from hospital. He was dressed in black and armed with weapons including the crossbow, a break-barrel air rifle and CO2 and ball-bearing guns. Restaurant worker Bethany Connelly said girls eating outside asked if they could finish their meals inside 'because they'd seen someone with a crossbow'. She added: 'Minutes later we saw ambulance and police rushing down.' Another local, April Place, suggested his outfit and weapons might have been mistaken for fancy dress. She said: 'They all dress up with axes and things. No one would have taken any notice.'
