2025 Toyota Yaris price and specs

The Toyota Yaris has received some minor updates for 2025, focused largely on safety technology. This has coincided with price increases of between $60 and $490. All Yaris variants now feature a low-speed acoustic vehicle alert system to warn other road users of their presence when they are running in electric mode. Yaris ZR Credit: CarExpert With its introduction to the base Ascent Sport, all Yaris variants now feature Toyota's parking support brake function, which applies the brakes if the system detects a crossing vehicle, object or pedestrian while you're reversing. Front and rear parking sensors are also standard across the range. But not all the specification changes relate to safety technology. The mid-range SX, for example, upgrades from 15-inch alloy wheels to the same 16-inch alloys as seen on the flagship ZR. Finally, all Yaris variants now use R1234yf refrigerant for their air-conditioning systems. The Yaris is the slowest-selling vehicle in its VFACTS segment (mainstream light passenger cars), which is quite an anomaly for a Toyota. There are a couple of caveats, however. Supplied Credit: CarExpert Its VFACTS segment contains just four models – the others being the Suzuki Swift, Mazda 2 and MG 3 – with lower-volume vehicles like the Skoda Fabia and Volkswagen Polo sitting in a separate Light Cars over $30,000 segment. To the end of April, Toyota has delivered 980 Yaris hatchbacks this year, including the high-performance three-door GR Yaris hot hatch. The related Yaris Cross light SUV, which has received a similar round of updates, sells in much greater volumes. Toyota has delivered 3849 examples thus far this year. Toyota Australia axed petrol-only versions of the Yaris in 2024, leaving its smallest hatchback as a hybrid-only proposition. Toyota offers capped-price servicing for the first five years or 75,000km, whichever comes first. Servicing is required every 12 months or 15,000km, with each visit costing $250. The Toyota Yaris has a five-star safety rating from ANCAP, based on testing conducted in 2020. 2025 Toyota Yaris, Yaris Cross prices: Brand's cheapest cars get tech upgrades

Toyota has given its Yaris hatchback and Yaris Cross light SUV some minor updates for 2025, centred largely around their suite of safety technology. This has coincided with price increases of as little as $40 and as much as $800. All Yaris and Yaris Cross variants now feature a low-speed acoustic vehicle alert system to warn other road users of their presence when they are running in electric mode. The base Yaris Ascent Sport and Yaris Cross GX gain Toyota's parking support brake feature, which applies the brakes if the system detects a crossing vehicle, object or pedestrian while you're reversing. Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now. Yaris ZR Credit: CarExpert The Yaris Cross GX also gains blind-spot monitoring and safe exit assist. However, the hatch and SUV haven't just received additional safety kit. The Yaris SX hatch now rides on the same 16-inch alloy wheels as the flagship ZR, while the Yaris Cross GX gains a heating function for its exterior mirrors. All Yaris and Yaris Cross vehicles also now use R1234yf refrigerant for their air-conditioning systems. The vehicles are mechanically unchanged, with all Yaris and front-wheel drive Yaris Cross variants powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol-electric hybrid powertrain, which mates a 67kW/120Nm petrol engine with a 59kW/141Nm electric motor for a total system output of 85kW. Yaris Cross GXL Credit: CarExpert The Yaris Cross is available with all-wheel drive, which adds a 3.9kW/52Nm rear electric motor. 'Safety remains one of our highest priorities when developing, designing and engineering Toyota vehicles and it's a continuous process so when new technologies are developed, we make them available for customers as soon as possible,' said Sean Hanley, Toyota Australia vice president for sales, marketing and franchise operations. 'These latest upgrades for the Yaris hatch and Yaris Cross SUV are an example of that and while the changes are incremental, every new technology contributes to the safety of all road users.' Yaris Yaris Cross Premium paint is a $575 option for all Yaris and Yaris Cross models, while two-tone exteriors are a $1350 option for the Yaris ZR and Yaris Cross Urban and GR Sport.
