Brazen burglary: $100k of designer clothing stolen from boutique store
A "large haul" of designer clothes has been stolen from a high-end boutique in a brazen burglary in an affluent shopping strip.
Victoria Police allege over $100,000 in ladies' clothing, including cashmere coats and 'Linda' blazers, were stolen in the early hours of May 12 from the South Yarra store.
The offender, police allege, used a hammer to break the glass front door of the boutique.
The clothes were then loaded in a supermarket shopping trolley before being transferred to the tray of a silver Ford Falcon ute and driven away.
The male offender drove off towards the Yarra LGA, police allege.
CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries have been released.
Police say the same male has committed numerous other commercial burglaries in the Merri-bek and Fawkner areas as well.
The man is described as Caucasian, aged in his 40s with a solid build.
He was seen on CCTV wearing a black face covering and a black cap.
