Young Indians Parliament held in Erode
To instil democratic values, leadership qualities, and public speaking skills among school students, a two-day event titled Young Indians Parliament was recently organised by the CII Young Indians (Yi) Erode Chapter.
Over 200 students from various schools actively took on the roles of Parliamentarians, engaging in lively debates and discussions that mirrored real legislative proceedings. This immersive experience offered them a deeper understanding of democratic practices, Parliamentary etiquette, and the importance of respectful dialogue.
The valedictory session was attended by MPs K.E. Prakash (Erode) and Ganapathy P. Rajkumar (Coimbatore), along with A.K. Ilango, correspondent of Kongu Engineering College, and V. Balusamy, principal. Awards were presented to students who excelled in debate, leadership, and participation.
A press release stated that the Yi Parliament initiative had emerged as a powerful platform to inspire young minds, foster civic engagement, and empower the next generation to become responsible, informed, and proactive citizens.
