Participation of govt teachers, staff is mandatory for yoga day programme
Jaipur: The education department announced Friday that participation of govt school teachers and staff is mandatory for the Yoga Day programme. Teachers have been given the facility to participate in the programme from the nearest govt school.
Education secretary Krishna Kunal, while chairing a meeting on preparations for
International Yoga Day
, stated that yoga is not just an exercise but an integral part of the National Education Policy 2020, which teaches Indian culture and life values.
The secretary instructed all govt and private schools to ensure mandatory registration on the 'Yoga Sangam Portal' by June 18. Emphasising active participation of govt as well as private schools, the secretary said, "Organising International Yoga Day is not just a formal programme but is the responsibility of every educational institution."
The secretary also mentioned that Hariyalo Rajasthan: Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan 2.0 will start on July 15 and will run for a month. To make this campaign more effective, instructions have been given for the selection of plantation sites from June 15-30, and preparations for plantation should be done once a week.
