York International Women's Week 2025 to take place from March 3
More than 40 events are set to take place across York for International Women's Week.
York International Women's Week 2025 will take place from March 3 to March 9, with a programme of events including talks, crafting, open mics, comedy workshops, music, tap dancing, clothes swaps, woodland activities, theatre performances, reusable feminine hygiene sewing, and patchworking as part of a global peace project.
Topics will range across climate matters internationally and locally, women's stories from Palestine, travelling in wild places, making space for women and girls in parks, wellness, cyber safety, and the effect of disability and gender on health and social care.
Networking opportunities will include for women in business or while pregnant, as well as for end-of-life planning.
This year's theme is 'Looking Forward, Moving Forward.'
Ann, one of the coordinating group, said: "Coming together is as important as ever for a better future, to discuss challenging issues, to try new skills, to look after ourselves as well as others, to think both locally and globally – and also to have fun in our lives!"
The programme is coordinated by local volunteers.
