Nicola Peltz wedding singer's 'jaw-dropping words' about Victoria Beckham

Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham tied the knot three years ago but their wedding is back in the headlines amid rumours of a rift between them and David and Victoria Beckham Nicola Peltz is said to have felt that her mother-in-law Victoria Beckham"ruined her wedding" to Brooklyn Beckham three years ago. It's claimed that she ended up being upset over a performance during the evening. Nicola, now 30, married Brooklyn, now 26, in April 2022. The groom's parents Victoria, now 51, and David Beckham, now 50, were among the guests at the star-studded ceremony, which was held in Palm Beach, Florida. The special occasion has attracted renewed interest lately amid rumours of a rift between the two high-profile couples in recent weeks. ‌ It's claimed that Victoria "hijacked" a dance meant for the newlyweds and that singer Marc Anthony, now 56, paid tribute to the mother-of-the-bride. The latest speculation comes following rumours of such a scenario at the time. ‌ A source told the Daily Mail back in 2022 that Nicola and Brooklyn chose Marc's ballad You Sang To Me after being asked by him to select their favourite song for him to "dedicate to them". Victoria allegedly "stole" it for a mother-son dance shortly before the couple were meant to dance to it. The source told the outlet: "Without any warning and at the request of Victoria, Marc switched it to a mother-son dance using the same song." It was reported that Nicola was upset over Victoria dancing with Brooklyn to a song chosen by the couple, rather than a tribute to her from Marc beforehand. ‌ Now, a source has similarly claimed to People that Victoria took a dance meant for the newlyweds. The source also alleged that singer Marc, who is said to be a friend of the Beckhams, described Victoria as the "most beautiful woman in the room" as he invited her to join Brooklyn. The source said: "Before the song began, [Marc] asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, 'The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up... Victoria Beckham!'" It's also suggested that Nicola felt that Victoria "ruined her wedding" but "couldn't understand why". Another source told People that guests went silent after Victoria's name was called, rather than Nicola's. They said: "It was such a jaw-dropping moment that it left the whole room in absolute shock - you could hear a pin drop." ‌ It's reported that guests are said to have been more surprised when Victoria began slow dancing with Brooklyn. A source said Nicola ran out of the room crying, adding: "[She] felt like Victoria did this on purpose, when she knew it was a pre-planned romantic dance meant for Brooklyn and Nicola." According to the outlet, though, a source said that the newlyweds had already done their formal first dance early in the evening. It's also suggested by them that the couple also had a second dance prior to Marc's performance. ‌ That source said that "later on," when things were more casual, the Grammy Award winner "got people dancing". They said that Brooklyn danced with his mother, and that David danced with his daughter Harper Beckham, now 13. The source added that "everyone had a great time". Addressing the speculation about the dance, a source told the Sun that the alleged situation continues to be the subject of different opinions within the family. They said: "From Nicola's perspective, it's no wonder she keeps bringing it up - what was meant to be the most special day of her life has been overtaken by events beyond her control." The source added: "For her part, Victoria, as a woman's woman, insists she would never deliberately derail her son's big day. It is all very sad, and right now I cannot see things ever being the way they were between Brooklyn and his parents."

Inside Nicola Peltz and Victoria Beckham's never-ending feud after latest bitter snub

Nicola Peltz's negative relationship with her in-laws is said to be at the heart of the feud and has led Brooklyn to no longer talk to his family Despite jetting to London from their LA home last week, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz were nowhere to be seen at David's A-List bash in Kensington on Saturday evening. Nor did they attend family celebrations in France on Friday, or the big party at the Beckhams' £10millionm Cotswolds mansion on Wednesday evening. This, added to Brooklyn's failure to wish his dad happy birthday or send congratulations to his mum when she turned 51 two weeks ago sends a very pointed message. ‌ Yet, apparently, Nicola's relationship with her in-laws is at the heart of the feud and has led Brooklyn to no longer talk to his family. It comes after Brooklyn is said to no longer be speaking to younger brother Romeo after he began dating his ex Kim Turnbull. ‌ A source told the Mail on Sunday that the couple's absence on Saturday evening was "all about Nicola". They continued: "Weeks ago Brooklyn told them he would be there and they were expecting Nicola. Now David and Victoria have no idea what is going on. The French trip was to be the really special family time away but they didn't go. Then, after days of leaving his parents on tenterhooks, he and Nicola didn't go to Core either." The discord between Nicola and Victoria runs deep. Ever since Nicola and Brooklyn became an item in October 2019, tensions have grown and things have reportedly "not been the same" between Brooklyn and his parents. However, it was during wedding planning that things truly came to boiling point. Victoria is said to have found it "difficult" taking a back seat during the planning of Brooklyn and Nicola's wedding. The major point of contention came as Nicola's family – headed by American businessman Nelson Peltz, 79, who is worth a reported £1.3 billion – took care of all the planning. As a result, a £3 million ceremony was held at one of the Peltz's family homes – a £76million oceanfront mansion in Miami while three giant marquees offered shelter to the A-List guests and housed a dance floor, catering area and more. Victoria had reportedly wanted the wedding to be held closer to home. ‌ A source told new! magazine at the time: 'Victoria likes to take control of things but this wedding was completely organised by Nicola's family. She had to take a back seat, which she found a bit difficult. But she understood and just wanted them to have the best day.' During the big day, Nicola is also reported to have "stormed off" in the middle of her wedding reception after Victoria "stole" her first dance. She is said to have ended up "crying her eyes out" over the moment A source told the Daily Mail that Nicola was in floods of tears after her first dance - planned to be You Sang To Me, sung live by US singer Marc Anthony was switched "at the request of Victoria." ‌ There was later a speech by the singer which was described as "gushing." The source said: "It was totally just an ode to Victoria and how awesome she is. " A source said that Marc, who reportedly performed at the wedding, had asked the couple to pick a song to dedicate to them and You Sang to Me was their "favourite". ‌ They claimed that the bride left the room because it was thought that he was going to introduce the newlyweds for a special dance to the love song that they had chosen. The source however claimed: "But without any warning and at the request of Victoria, Marc switched it to a mother-son dance using the same song". During the ceremony, it was also noted that Nicola had opted to wear couture Valentino dress— despite the initial plan being for her to wear a specially-made dress designed by Victoria. ‌ However, Nicola later hit back claiming that Victoria had ghosted her over the dress, and that the former pop star had phoned her mum Claudia Heffner Peltz after days of "silence" saying that she couldn't make it. Responding to the reported feud at the time, Nicola has said that it "hurts [her] feelings" and insists that David and Victoria Beckham are "great in-laws". ‌ However, while speaking to Grazia USA, she appeared to hint that there may have been some tension surrounding the wedding dress debacle. 'Well, I was planning on wearing Victoria's wedding dress," she explained. "I was truly so excited to be able to wear a design that my future mother-in-law created. We connected to start designing the dress, and then a few days went by and I didn't hear anything. Victoria called my mom and said her atelier couldn't make it. ‌ "So, I spoke to my mom and Leslie [Nicola's close friend and stylist, stylist Leslie Fremar], and I was like, 'Well, unfortunately, this can't happen, so what's the next step?'" Further addressing the feud, Nicola said: "When I read things that say [things like] I was never planning on wearing a [Victoria Beckham] dress or things like that, it does hurt my feelings. I try not to let it, but it's just not the truth. It's just a bit of a bummer when you're like, 'Oh, people think that,' but it's just not true." Following the wedding drama, Brooklyn failed to turn up to his maternal grandfather Anthony Adams' wedding. He has since also snubbed the Beckhams' family holidays last summer in Europe and Canada. He was also a no-show at Romeo's birthdays in London and Vegas over the last few years. Last month, Victoria appeared to send a coded message to daughter-in-law Nicola as she sported a custom corset she designed for her daughter-in-law. She wore the jaw-dropping plunge outfit, which was originally created by Victoria for Nicola, to her 51st birthday. Nicola had worn the corset at the premiere of her film Lola last year, and in April 2024, she shared a throwback photo with Victoria to mark her 50th birthday, writing, 'Happy Birthday to my beautiful MIL.' However, this week, Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola failed to acknowledge Victoria's birthday, sparking speculation of tension within the family. While there was speculation that the feud surrounded Romeo's girlfriend, a source told the Mail: "This is nothing to do with Kim and is all about Nicola,' said a friend. 'All David and Victoria want is their son back – and they will be there to welcome him any time."
