Tasha Ghouri finally speaks out on Strictly controversy with 7-word statement
EXCLUSIVE: Love Island star, and author Tasha Ghouri has opened up about her time on the BBC ballroom dancing show and why she's still proud to represent the deaf community Love Island bombshell and now TV personality, campaigner and author, Tasha Ghouri is going from strength to strength. After finishing second in Strictly Come Dancing last year, the inspiring reality star launched her book, Your Superpower, in February, detailing the hurdles she battled to get where she is now. Tasha, who was born deaf and has a cochlear implant, tells OK! she 'still faces difficulties' when it comes to her deafness. But in the spirit she's embraced everything so far in her career, the 26-year-old from Thirsk, North Yorkshire, won't let it stop her. Here, Tasha – whose split from Andrew Le Page was confirmed by her ex in February– tells us about being a celebrity ambassador for Make-A-Wish and Disney, where she lent her support to A Disney Wish UK – a three-day experience at Hoar Cross Hall in Staffordshire that brought the magic of Disney to more than 200 children living with critical illness. READ MORE: 'I'm a shopping writer and River Island's summer maxi is my ultimate payday suggestion for May' She also looks back at her unforgettable Strictly journey, partnered with Aljaž Škorjanec, and her pride at representing the deaf community... Hi, Tasha! You've partnered with Disney and Make-A-Wish – can you tell us more? The work they do is incredible. They're a great charity, providing magical, beautiful experiences for all these families. I felt so honoured to be a part of that, to just make them happy, make them go away with these beautiful memories. It was so emotional and magical– I look back on it and just feel grateful to be part of that. You've talked about facing discrimination for being deaf. Do you still face that? Yeah, I do still face difficulties today, but, you know, it doesn't compare at all to that these children go through every single day. Everyone has their own difficulties, dealing with disabilities and illnesses, but these children live in a hospital, and for Make-A-Wish to provide an experience where it's all accessible, they can travel and they look after them. It's so important to have that in the world, because the world can be so sad and scary sometimes. It's nice to have that positive light in their lives. Now that the dust has settled, how do you look back at your time on Strictly? To make it to the final was just the dream-come-true. That TV show was just the biggest dream of mine since I was a kid, and to say that I made it to the final and I did the tour, the whole experience, is a pinch-me moment for sure. You've always said you adore dancing. Was this the perfect show for you? Oh yes, dance is my biggest passion. It was the perfect show for me. I was dancing and having the time of my life and making new friends. I look back with such fond memories of the cast, Strictly really is magic. I'm so excited to see the new cast this year. Honestly, the people doing it are going to love it. They're in for a treat. There's been controversy around celebrity welfare on Strictly. How did you find it? My experience on Strictly was really positive. I had the best time. I look back with pure happiness and joy, because I just loved every single second. Do you have any exciting work projects coming up? I want to keep doing charity work, be a real advocate for the deaf community and work with charities like Make-A-Wish. These are the things I'm passionate about, I want to help people when I can. That's what is really important to me. Is there any more fun TV stuff you're working on? I don't know yet, but the future looks bright. I want to do more presenting and documentaries. I've done a few TV appearances that are coming out soon, but I want to push myself and challenge myself in that direction this year.

Love Island's Andrew Le Page confirms he is secretly dating after Tasha split
Love Island star Andrew Le Page gave his social media followers an update on his dating life following his shock split from Tasha Ghouri after two and a half years together Love Island star Andrew Le Page has admitted he is back on the dating scene months after his shock split from Tasha Ghouri. The former couple stunned their fans when they announced their relationship was over in February after two and a half years together. Now, as Tasha continues to wish her ex well despite him being "blindsided" by the split, Andrew has admitted he is back in the hunt for his perfect partner. The 30-year-old took to his TikTok to share a message with his followers. The former estate agent shared a clip to the social media platform last week where he jokingly told himself off for getting excited about a new girl. It appeared as thought the relationship didn't last, either. In the clip, Andrew is seen looking sad at the camera before he turned around and stood in the corner of the room. He captioned his upload: "Putting myself in timeout for getting excited over a girl again." Despite the seemingly failed attempt to re-enter the dating world, his followers quickly gathered to offer their support. One user told the reality TV star in the comments section: "Andrew you deserve the world and more hope one day you find your person." Andrew's upload comes after Tasha was spotted on a dating app shortly after their split. Despite appearing to be a strong couple in public, it's thought the cracks were showing behind the scenes long before their public announcement. In a memoir, titled Your Superpower, Tasha candidly spilled about the collapse of her relationship. In it, she lay some of the blame on Strictly, confessing the strain of the show was the catalyst for the romantic meltdown. She wrote in the book: "It's a long process, but it's really about having people out there, in other people to help them find their self-confidence with their disability. I knew deep down it wasn't right. There were a lot of tears and it was a really hard time. Andrew was the man I was going to marry. We had discussed having children.' It was recently revealed Andrew was leaving the UK to live in Dubai. Speaking to the Mirror on the BAFTA Awards 2025 red carpet in London earlier this month, Tasha said she was "doing okay" since the split. "You know, break ups aren't easy for anyone to go through," she admitted. "I had a great two and a half years with Andrew and I look back with a positive smile on my face as we had great memories together. "Sometimes it just doesn't work out and that's all that happened and I wish him the best. I'm just moving forward now." Despite Tasha's well-wishes, Andrew appeared less content with the split. As he responded to a series of questions from fans on Snapchat, Andrew seemed less than impressed. One follower asked about how he coped with the "different negative narratives" around the relationship breakdown. In response, he teased: "Let's just say I've had to bite my tongue with all of it. Truth always comes out at some point right?"

This Morning's Cat Deeley suffers dress malfunction moments before going on air
This Morning presenter Cat Deeley suffered a wardrobe malfunction on Thursday In a spectacular This Morning special, the show went al fresco with its very own ice cream van to match the sizzling Thursday sunshine. Presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard were dressed to impress for the outdoor extravaganza, relishing the highest temperatures of the year so far. Cat, 48, was an absolute vision in a vibrant red mini dress, complete with unique asymmetrical floral design and elaborate embroidery. She completed her look with elegant gold sandals. But, just moments before going live, Cat found herself in a spot of bother with her outfit as she appeared on co-host Ben's, 50, Instagram video. Ben had hopped onto social media to tease the day's lineup on This Morning and couldn't resist boasting about snagging an ice cream cone from their branded van, quipping, "I've gone early with my ice cream!", reports Wales Online. He then turned the camera on Cat who quipped back, "My dress has gone early!" while a team member was caught on camera sewing up her dress just moments before going live on air. During the programme, chef Clodagh McKenna didn't miss the chance to compliment Cat's dress, saying, "Can we take one moment for your dress, how gorgeous do you look today! I mean, it's like Carrie Bradshaw's Sex and the City is here in London!" To add to the fun, Ben playfully remarked he was glad Cat had opted for flats stating, "Now people can actually see that I am taller than you! But usually if she's not in 10-inch heels, she's not happy!" Cat also had a bit of a mishap on the show while sampling Clodagh's pistachio affogato, prompting her co-host Ben to say, "Sorry, we are listening, we're not ignoring you... we might need some help with Cat's dress which is now covered in pistachio coffee!" Thursday's episode also featured a chat with Love Island's Tasha Ghouri about her debut book titled 'Your Superpower'. It comes as viewers were left confused by Cat's fashion choice for Wednesday's episode, as she and Ben discussed the intense heatwave hitting the UK, with forecasts predicting it'll be hotter than Ibiza over the weekend. But it was Cat's peculiar footwear that really caught audiences off guard – amid the sweltering heat, she rocked a pair of tan knee-high boots adorned with what looked like ropes, leaving fans utterly perplexed.
