Sean Kingston and His Mother Found Guilty of Wire Fraud Scheme, Sentencing Scheduled for July
Rapper Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were found guilty of all counts of wire fraud in their trial on Friday.
Their federal charges involved $1 million in wire fraud. Turner and Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, both faced federal charges of one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and five counts of wire fraud in connection with a luxury scheme aiming to 'defraud victim sellers of high-end specialty vehicles, jewelry and other goods purchased.'

Prosecutors called Kingston and Turner 'masters of deception and fraud,' according to CBS. Following the jury's verdict, which took around three hours to reach, Turner was taken into custody, as her criminal history were factored in. Meanwhile, Kingston is on house arrest while he awaits sentencing. His sister is apparently posting a $200,000 bail.
Kingston is most well-known for hits like 'Beautiful Girls,' 'Take You There' and his feature on Justin Bieber's 'Eenie Meenie.' He was arrested in May in California after a SWAT team raided his home in Southwest Ranches, Florida. His mother was also arrested and taken into custody. Kingston shared on his Instagram Story earlier that day: 'People love negative energy! I am good, and so is my mother!… My lawyers are handling everything as we speak.'
During the trial, CBS reported a crucial piece of evidence was Kingston texting his mom: 'I told you to make [a] fake receipt,' followed by, 'so it [looks] like the transfer will be there in a couple [of] days.'
Kingston and Turner's sentencing is scheduled to take place on July 11. They are both facing 20 years in prison.
