Craig Bellamy picks Ronan Kpakio for Wales after failing to buy him for Burnley
Craig Bellamy has revealed he tried to sign Ronan Kpakio at Burnley after naming the Cardiff teenager in his Wales squad. Full-back Kpakio, 18 last Sunday, was the surprise name in Bellamy's 27-strong squad on Wednesday for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Belgium. Kpakio made his first league start for Cardiff on the final day of the season at Norwich after being capped by Wales at various age-grade levels. The right-back – who only turned 18 on Sunday and has captained Wales several times at youth level – has been named in Craig Bellamy's 27-strong squad.

Official: 18-year-old Barcelona starlet signs new contract until 2028
As expected, FC Barcelona have officially announced that teenage talent Jofre Torrents has signed a new contract with the club. The 18-year-old left-back's previous deal stood to expire in the summer of 2026 and the Catalans have managed to extend it by two more years to keep him at the club until 2028. Advertisement 'FC Barcelona and Jofre Torrents have reached an agreement to extend the full-back's contract for three more seasons, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2028,' the club statement read. 'The signing ceremony was attended by Joan Soler, the director of Youth Football, and Jose Ramon Alexanco, the director of Youth Football.' Torrents has been at Barcelona's La Masia youth setup since 2017, having arrived from Reus Deportiu. The young left-back has enjoyed a rapid rise in prominence through the youth ranks at the club. Despite battling some injuries, Torrents played a part in Barcelona Juvenil A's treble triumph under Juliano Belletti this season and even made his debut for Barça Atletic. Having been called up to first-team training by Hansi Flick on multiple occasions, it is expected that the young left-back will be a part of the pre-season tour in the summer.
