Only three of 30 Ludhiana police stations meet commissioner's performance standards
Ludhiana: Only three out of 30 police stations in the city met the performance standards set by commissioner Swapan Sharma in a review held on Sunday. The CP reviewed a 26-point chart, covering areas such as cracking down on drug peddlers, arresting proclaimed offenders, and complaint resolution. The top three performing stations will receive appreciation certificates, while the others have been warned to improve. Sharma emphasized that only officers meeting these criteria would remain in their positions, with transfers looming for underperformers. He also stressed that complacency would not be tolerated, particularly in the Yudh Nashya Virudh campaign and the apprehension of offenders. Any officer found neglecting citizen complaints or failing to show results would face disciplinary action. Sharma committed to transparency, ensuring every citizen complaint would be registered. He also directed increased patrols in busy areas like malls and markets to boost police visibility. Weekly performance reviews will continue, with lapses closely monitored. Additionally, the SHOs have been instructed to properly dispose of case properties and maintain accurate records, with the CP warning that inefficiency would not be tolerated. Public safety remains Ludhiana police's top priority. MSID:: 120670693 413 |
