Three IFVs destroyed: Achilles Regiment strikes Russians on Kupiansk front

On 10 April, the 429th Achilles Regiment of Unmanned Systems, in coordination with the 43rd Separate Mechanised Brigade and the 40th Artillery Brigade, eliminated a group of Russian equipment near the village of Stepova Novoselivka on the Kupiansk front, destroying three infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) and damaging another. Source: Yurii Fedorenko, Commander of the 429th Achilles Separate Regiment of Unmanned Systems Details: The Russian vehicle movement was detected by reconnaissance drones of the 43rd Separate Mechanised Brigade. The crews of the 429th Achilles Regiment swiftly arrived to reinforce the combined firepower of neighbouring units. As a result of the FPV drone strikes conducted by the Achilles Regiment, three IFVs were destroyed, and another was halted and damaged. The entire Russian group was neutralised through the joint efforts of Ukrainian units, supported by artillery fire from the 40th Artillery Brigade. Context: The Russian army activity on the Kupiansk front has intensified in recent days. The Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group reported that on 10 April, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled Russian assaults near Nova Kruhliakivka and Zahryzove. The Russian troops attempted a mechanised assault involving 40 soldiers and four armoured vehicles towards Petropavlivka. Ukrainian defenders returned fire, destroying all Russian vehicles and inflicting significant losses on the assaulting forces. Previously: On 6 April, Russian forces launched a combined assault involving infantry, quad bikes, and armoured vehicles on the outskirts of Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast. They were defeated by the coordinated response of the 429th Achilles Regiment, the 1st Burevii Presidential Operational Brigade, and the 43rd Mechanised Brigade. Background: The 429th Achilles Regiment of Unmanned Systems has launched a recruitment campaign and is building up its team. Applications can be submitted via the regiment's official website. Russian troops attempt to use weather to approach Kupiansk: Ukrainian defence forces repel 2 assaults

Russian troops launched assault operations on the outskirts of the city of Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast on 6 April, using infantry, quad bikes and armoured vehicles, but suffered a defeat. Source: Yurii Fedorenko, Commander of the 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment, in a comment to Ukrainska Pravda Details: Russian troops attempted to take advantage of the worsening weather conditions, expecting that the effectiveness of Ukrainian drones would be reduced in mist. In the morning, the Russian infantry tried to break through the defence forces' positions in two areas near Kupiansk. However, the bet on rain did not work – both assaults were repelled. The situation repeated in the afternoon – once again, a tank and an infantry fighting vehicle attempted to pull Russian troops into Ukrainian positions. The Russians managed to reach the front line and dismount infantry, but personnel and equipment were destroyed by the 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment, the 1st Burevii Presidential Operational Brigade and the 43rd Separate Mechanised Brigade. Quote from Anton Shmahailo, Commander of the First Battalion of the 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment: "The enemy is actively using weather conditions. Along with the mechanised assault, they carry out attacks with quad bikes in another area – likely to distract attention from the main blow. But due to being in a rush, the enemy's actions are rather disorganised. It can be stated that the level of coordination among the Russians has decreased. Possibly, this is because their command is constantly pushing them, driving them to their deaths. Their main goal in this case is to advance towards Kupiansk. But the enemy is still far from the city. We keep working." Details: The Russians have been intensifying efforts on the Kupiansk front for several months. The battle for the left bank of the Kupiansk district began in September 2024 and is still ongoing. The key settlements of the defence forces' bridgehead along the left bank of the Oskil River are Kupiansk, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi and Borova. In October 2024, the Russians managed to split the defence forces' bridgehead in two near the settlements of Kruhliakivka, Kolisnykivka and Zahryzove through large-scale attacks, with heavy losses in equipment and personnel. Anton Shmahailo earlier suggested that the Russians had been ordered to achieve specific goals by a certain date – likely to capture Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi by the New Year. However, Russian troops have so far failed to achieve any major objectives in this area. Support Ukrainska Pravda on Patreon!

Ukrainian defence forces repel Russian assault on Kupiansk front, Kharkiv Oblast

Fighters from the 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment have demonstrated how they repelled another Russian assault on the Kupiansk front, Kharkiv Oblast. A column of Russian vehicles and infantry was moving towards the settlement of Lozova. Ukraine's defence forces stopped five armoured vehicles. Source: Yurii Fedorenko, Commander of the 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment Details: It is reported that, on the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian troops launched active assault operations on the Kupiansk front. The 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment, together with guardsmen from the 1st Burevii Presidential Operational Brigade and paratroopers from the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade, repelled the attack near the settlement of Lozova. The 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment destroyed a tank and an armoured vehicle, with three more armoured vehicles damaged. Quote from Anton Shmahailo, Commander of the First Battalion of the 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment: "The enemy is continuously exerting pressure towards the outskirts of the settlement of Lozova to expand their control zone on the left-bank foothold across the Oskil River. The goal is clear – to get maximum territorial gains in the shortest time possible to set the stage for eliminating the aforementioned foothold, reaching the outskirts of the town of Borova, and eventually occupying it. They are still far from this, but the resources, armoured vehicles, and personnel they are deploying are significant." For reference: The Russians have been unable to make significant advances on the Kupiansk front since autumn 2024. The Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group of Forces reported that the Russians recently tried to assault Ukrainian positions near Petropavlivka and Nova Kruhliakivka but failed. Previously: On 3-4 January, UAV crews of the Achilles Regiment stopped 20 Russian armoured vehicles near the village of Zahryzove on the Kupiansk front. Ukraine's Achilles UAV battalion repel Russian attack on Kupiansk front

Fighters from the 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment have shown how they repelled another Russian assault on the Kupiansk front, destroying four Russian infantry fighting vehicles. Source: Yurii Fedorenko, Commander of the 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment. Details: The Russians tried to assault Ukrainian positions towards the city of Lozova on the evening of 20 February. The 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment, together with the guardsmen from the 1st Burevii Presidential Operational Brigade and the paratroopers from the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade, detected and destroyed the Russian equipment in time. Context: The Russians have been unable to make significant advances on the Kupiansk front since autumn 2024. Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Grouping of Forces reported that the Russians recently tried to assault Ukrainian positions near Petropavlivka and Nova Kruhliakivka but failed. In recent months, the Russians have been concentrating efforts on capturing the left bank of the Oskil River and trying to cross and establish a foothold on the right bank. The frozen river makes this task easier, prompting the Russians to intensify efforts on this front. Previously: On 3-4 January, UAV crews of the Achilles Regiment stopped 20 units of Russian armoured vehicles near the village of Zagryzove on the Kupiansk front. Background: On 29 January, Unmanned Strike Aviation Systems Battalion Achilles of the 92nd Assault Brigade named after Ivan Sirko was expanded into the 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment within Ukraine's Ground Forces.
