2026 Chevrolet Tahoe Review, Pricing, and Specs

Overview Based on the Silverado pickup truck, the 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe is a family-friendly people hauler with off-road capability and stout towing capacity. Its three-row cabin features plenty of features, aimed at meeting the needs of parents and kids alike. A pair of gasoline-powered V-8 engines are available, but if you want to save at the pump, go with the optional diesel inline-six. All models can venture off the pavement, but if your adventures include serious off-roading, you'll want the Z71 model, which comes specially equipped for such tasks. Despite its truck-based bones, the Tahoe is refined on the road. The downside is that, while spacious, this full-size SUV doesn't offer much cargo space when the third row is in use. For extra space, consider the Tahoe's long-wheelbase sibling, the Suburban. What's New for 2026? The Tahoe was just updated for the 2025 model year, so we expect to see no significant changes for 2026. Pricing and Which One to Buy The price of the 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe is expected to start around $62,000 and go up to $81,000 depending on the trim and options. LS $62,000 (est) LT $65,000 (est) RST $70,000 (est) Z71 $72,000 (est) Premier $76,000 (est) High Country $81,000 (est) 0 $25k $50k $75k $100k $125k We think the mid-level RST and Z71 models offer the best value, with the former being flashier and the latter being geared toward adventurous folk who occasionally go off-roading. We prefer the Z71's standard four-wheel drive, rugged appearance, and exclusive off-road equipment. We'd also upgrade from the standard 5.3-liter V-8 to the optional 6.2-liter V-8, which brings an extra 65 horsepower. Engine, Transmission, and Performance Most Tahoes ship with a V-8 engine under the hood—either a 355-hp 5.3-liter or a 420-hp 6.2-liter—both mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard on most models, and all-wheel drive is optional. A diesel 3.0-liter inline-six is optional and makes 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. The diesel comes with the same 10-speed automatic and can be ordered in every trim. The off-road-oriented Tahoe Z71 comes with a two-speed transfer case that provides traditional four-wheel drive, 20-inch wheels wrapped with all-terrain tires, and underbody protection. We tested a pre-facelift Tahoe Z71 with the 5.3-liter V-8 and found it had adequate acceleration, a firm brake pedal, and an impressively quiet cabin at highway speeds. The Z71 can be ordered with an air spring suspension system that allows the driver to raise or lower the Tahoe's ride height—a feature that's handy for traversing obstacles off-road. This suspension is also available as an option on RST and High Country models. Our drive of the latest models showed that the Tahoe still provides surprising on-road refinement and that the diesel is smoother than ever. 0–60-MPH Times We haven't yet tested the 2026 Tahoe, but our tests of the mechanically similar previous model recorded times of 7.8 seconds for the diesel and 6.7 seconds for the 5.3-liter V-8 model. Towing and Payload Capacity In addition to having enough space for eight passengers (or even nine with the optional front bench seat), the Tahoe can also tow up to 8400 pounds, nearly as much as some full-size pickup trucks. To do this, however, requires the Tahoe to be equipped with rear-wheel drive and the 5.3-liter V-8. Ordering the 6.2-liter V-8 drops the maximum tow rating to 8300 pounds; with the diesel engine, the Tahoe can tow up to 8200 pounds. Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG The EPA hasn't released any fuel economy information for the 2026 Tahoe yet, but the 2025 model earned ratings as high as 22 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined for the diesel models, and 15 mpg city, 20 mpg highway, and 17 mpg for gasoline models. The last time we tested a diesel-powered Tahoe was in 2021, and on our 75-mph highway route, we observed 27 mpg. For more information about the Tahoe's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo The full-size Tahoe boasts a huge interior, with what feels like acres of open space compared with smaller, mid-size SUVs. Three rows of seats are standard, and the second-row seats slide fore and aft to provide flexibility that enables adults to sit comfortably in the wayback. A wide center console provides plenty of storage for smartphones, beverages, wallets, and keys, and a large storage bin under the center armrest should fit a purse or a small backpack. While entry-level LS models come fairly stripped back of luxury features, mid-range and upper trims are more well-equipped with desirable options, including a power rear liftgate, second-row captain's chairs, a power-adjustable steering column, and more. The top-spec High Country wears genuine wood trim, perforated leather upholstery, and exclusive interior color schemes. The Tahoe's interior packaging also provides a low, flat load floor thanks to its independent rear suspension; the cargo area with the second and third rows folded balloons to 123 cubic feet. We managed to fit six carry-on suitcases behind the third row. View Photos Chevrolet Infotainment and Connectivity All Tahoes are outfitted with a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen that's canted slightly toward the driver for easier access to radio, navigation, phone, and other functions. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a wireless smartphone charging pad are all included. In addition to the infotainment display, the Tahoe features an 11.0-inch digital instrument cluster. A Bose stereo system and a rear-seat entertainment system with two displays mounted behind the front seats are both optional. Safety and Driver-Assistance Features Several high-tech driver-assistance features are standard on the Tahoe, including lane-keeping assist and an automatic high-beam headlamp system. Chevy has also integrated several helpful towing-assist features, such as a trailer-tire monitoring system, a boat-ramp assist feature, and a navigation system that can calculate the best routes based on trailer size. GM's Super Cruise hands-free driving feature is available as an option on the LT, RST, Premier, and High Country trim levels. For more information about the Tahoe's crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include: Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection Standard lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist Available adaptive cruise control with hands-free driving mode Warranty and Maintenance Coverage Although the Toyota Sequoia offers better complimentary maintenance, Chevy's limited and powertrain warranties are identical to those of every other SUV in the full-size class. Limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles Complimentary maintenance is covered for the first visit Specifications Specifications 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe Vehicle Type: front-engine, rear- or rear/4-wheel-drive, 7–9-passenger wagon PRICE Base: LS, $60,495; LT, $63,695; RST, $68,495; Z71, $70,495; Premier, $75,095; High Country, $80,195 ENGINES turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 24-valve 3.0-liter diesel inline-6, 305 hp, 495 lb-ft; pushrod 16-valve 5.3-liter V-8, 355 hp, 383 lb-ft; pushrod 16-valve 6.2-liter V-8, 420 hp, 460 lb-ft TRANSMISSION 10-speed automatic DIMENSIONS Wheelbase: 120.9 in Length: 210.7 in Width: 81.0 in Height: 75.9 in Passenger Volume, F/M/R: 71/61/44 ft3 Cargo Volume, Behind F/M/R: 123/73/26 ft3 Curb Weight (C/D est): 5500–5900 lb PERFORMANCE (C/D EST) 60 mph: 6.5–7.8 sec 100 mph: 17.5–24.0 sec 1/4-Mile: 15.1–15.8 sec Top Speed: 112–115 mph EPA FUEL ECONOMY (C/D EST) Combined/City/Highway: 16–24/14–21/18–28 mpg More Features and Specs

SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – Police are looking for the public's help to identify the driver who hit a bicyclist on North Loomis Street in Southwick Monday evening. In a news release from the Southwick Police Department, a driver hit a bicyclist at around 5:27 p.m. while driving south on North Loomis Street. The vehicle they are looking for is a later model Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, possibly 2003-2006 model. A witness told police that the truck looked like it was spray painted black and had a white Z71 emblem on the side. VIDEO: Rampage at the 'X' in Springfield caught on camera The police say that the hit-and-run driver is described as a young white male, possibly 18 to 22 years old.
