BRS MLC Kavitha's six page letter to KCR creates flutter

HYDERABAD As was being speculated, some chinks in the armour of the Opposition [in Telangana] Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have been exposed with a letter addressed by the party MLC and Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha to her father and party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao seeing the light of the day. The timing holds significance as the letter was out in open before Ms. Kavitha's return to Hyderabad from the USA. She went abroad to attend her elder son's graduation ceremony. The letter has raised many an eyebrow in the political circles as it has been apparently 'leaked' intentionally as there was no reason for the MLC to write a letter when she could as well meet her father in person. The six-page handwritten letter, scribbled both in Telugu and English, has some interesting points raised by Ms. Kavitha. Referring to Mr. Rao's speech at the Warangal (Elkathurthy) public meeting held on April 27 to celebrate the party's 25th foundation day, she remarked that the party president had spared only two minutes to criticise/target Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BRS cadre view that BJP could become an alternative She felt that the party president could have been more critical about BJP . Such an apparent soft speech had given rise to the speculation that BRS could go for an alliance with BJP in future. Since the Congress had lost faith at grass-roots level, 'our cadre' (BRS) were of the view that BJP could become 'an alternative'. Not contesting the MLC election to the Hyderabad Local Authorities Constituency had also sent the wrong message that BRS had indirectly helped BJP by staying away. Everyone in the party was expecting that 'you (KCR) would give a specific programme or direction to the party ranks to address such a political scenario', she wrote. She suggested to her father that the plenary of the party could be held for 1-2 days even now so that the party ranks could vent their opinion. On the organisational matters, she brought to the party chief's notice that most of the MLAS, ZP chairpersons, ZPTC member level leaders were of the view access to the party president was only selective and suggested the chief to reach out to everyone. Further, she said that the old in-charges getting the responsibility for organising such a huge meeting had disappointed the Statehood movement activists. 'Dhoom dham' a failure Those in-charges were claiming that they would be giving B-Forms for local bodies elections and suggested that only the party at State level should give B-Forms for MPTC/ZPTC Member contestants. The 'dhoom dham' at the meeting was a failure and the leaders who are with the party since 2001 should have been given an opportunity to speak before the party chief taking to the dais, she felt. Ms. Kavitha stated that she was also disappointed in the party chief not speaking in Urdu, on Waqf Act, 42% BC reservation and on SC categorisation. She has also given some positive feedback in her letter.
