Tesla car takes owner to 'never been before' location: ‘Roasted by own vehicle'; viral video leaves Internet in splits
A video featuring Tesla car is doing rounds on social media that shows the owner Zach Jenkins issuing a command to the vehicle after turning on his car's Full Self-Driving (FSD) mode. The amusing response that the car produced in return left netizens in stitches. To test the voice command, the owner said, 'Tesla take me somewhere I've never been before.' Internet users were left in splits after the car escorted the owner to the unexpected destination - the gym. The caption to the post states, 'This car thinks it's funny.' Tesla confidently drove the couple to a gym named 'Planet Fitness.' Zach Jenkins wife, Hailee, who recorded the video can be heard guessing the location to be a fancy restaurant but to her surprise it was not a café or a new park, instead a place to shed kilos. Over Tesla's whimsical move, Hailee burst into laughter alongside Jenkins upon realising where the car had brought them. The video shared over four days ago on Instagram has amassed more than 19 lakh likes and several comments. A user stated, 'I thought it would go to the gym.' Another user joked, 'Tesla felt that pressure on the seat and calculated that it was time for the gym.' A third user quipped, 'Everyone knew it was going to the gym button.' A fifth user remarked, 'I knew it was gonna go to the gym.' A sixth user chimed, 'I knew yall were headed there before u left the house!' A seventh user commented, 'Imagine being roasted by your own vehicle. Technology's wild.' Tesla's Full Self-Driving system is an advanced driver assistance system that makes the vehicle run on autopilot mode, enhancing safety and convenience behind the wheel. This mode, incorporated in all new Tesla vehicles, reduces the driver's overall workload using camera-based Tesla Vision to deliver Autopilot features, rather than radar. FSD is categorised as Level 2 automation which implies that the vehicle can handle tasks like steering, braking, and accelerating, but the driver has to remain vigilant and ready to take control at any time. Tesla owner asks car to take him somewhere new; the unexpected destination has even Elon Musk laughing
A video is making the rounds online–and it's got even Elon Musk cracking up. Tesla owner Zach Jenkins recently put his car's Full Self-Driving (FSD) tech to the test with a voice command: 'Take me somewhere I've never been.' What he didn't expect was the destination the car took him to – to the gym – and the Internet in stitches. Instead of picking a café or a new park, the Tesla confidently rolled up outside… a gym. The moment was captured by his wife, Hailee, who burst out laughing alongside Jenkins as they realised where the car was headed. Watch the video: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Zach Jenkins (@zachandhailee) The video, originally shared on Instagram, quickly spread across platforms. When it hit X, even Musk responded with a laughing emoji, clearly amused by the unexpected result. Screenshot of Elon Musk's reaction Others also shared their reactions to the video. A user wrote, 'Tesla felt that pressure on the seat and calculated that it was time for the gym.' Another user commented, 'Imagine being roasted by your own vehicle. Technology's wild.' A third person said, 'I didn't know it could do this.' Many other users commented that they had anticipated it would be a gym. While the Internet had a good laugh over the video, it also highlighted the growing – yet still limited – abilities of Tesla's Full Self-Driving system. Despite its high-tech name, FSD is actually categorised as Level 2 automation, meaning it can handle tasks like steering, braking, and accelerating, but the driver must remain alert and ready to take control at any time.

WATCH: Tesla FSD's unexpected detour goes viral, even Elon Musk joins the fun
In a world where self-driving cars are becoming more common, one Tesla owner 's lighthearted experiment took an unexpected turn, and it's now making the internet laugh. Trying out Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature, the man expected his car to pick a random destination for a fun little ride. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now But instead of somewhere new or exciting, the car chose a familiar spot: the gym. The unexpected detour had both him and his wife laughing, and the video of the moment quickly went viral. Even Tesla CEO couldn't resist reacting to the clip, adding to the fun online. Zach Jenkins, a Tesla owner from the U.S., decided to test his car's Full Self-Driving feature by asking it to 'take me somewhere I've never been before.' Expecting the car to pick out a new restaurant or perhaps a scenic spot, Jenkins was instead dropped off at a local gym. The entire situation was captured in a video by his wife, Hailee, and shared on social media. What began as a simple test turned into an amusing, unexpected adventure. As the video spread across social media platforms, it didn't take long for Elon Musk to notice it. The Tesla CEO, known for his active social media presence, shared a laughing emoji in response to the video. Musk's lighthearted reaction only fueled the viral nature of the moment, and the clip became a favourite among Tesla fans and casual viewers alike. While the video gave everyone a good laugh, it also highlights where Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) tech currently stands. Despite the name, the system isn't fully autonomous just yet. It's considered Level 2 driver assistance, meaning it can steer, brake, and accelerate on its own– but the driver still needs to stay alert and be ready to take over at any time. In Jenkins' case, the car took his request for 'somewhere new' a bit too literally, choosing a gym instead of a nice spot to eat. His experience adds to a growing list of quirky FSD moments shared by Tesla users over the years. While these stories are often fun, they also point out that the technology, while impressive, still has some way to go.
