50,000 visitors expected as Enniscorthy prepares for 10th edition of Rockin' Food Festival
From having just six food traders in its early days, the Rockin' Food & Fruit Festival has grown into one of Ireland's top food and family events. This year, it will welcome 80 food and craft vendors with a special focus on local produce from Co Wexford including Zaeire Artisan Chocolate, Earth Food, Mór Taste, Killowen Farm, Isle of Crackers, and Naturally Cordial.
A food marquee in the grounds of Enniscorthy Castle will have live chef demonstrations from 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday featuring names like Kevin Dundon, Edward Hayden, and Wexford's Paul Hynes and Warren Gillen.
In addition there will be a live, family-friendly talk about the world of bees and honey production, street entertainment, kids rock 'n' roll dance classes, arts and craft workshops, and Lego-making and Pokémon-trading in Eason's Bookshop, plus, the ever-popular funfair and big wheel on The Promenade throughout the weekend.
The festival will officially open with a fireworks display on Friday, May 2 at 9.15 p.m. on The Promenade and there will be live rock 'n' roll music across the weekend in The Market Square from the best of Irish and International bands.
