Kuwait volleyball team begins training for the West Asian Championship in Bahrain

KUWAIT CITY, May 27: The Kuwaiti national volleyball team has officially launched its training program today at the Federation Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex, located in Sabah Al-Salem. The training is part of the team's preparations for the inaugural West Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, which will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from July 10 to 20. The technical staff, led by Argentine head coach Julian Alvarez and his assistant Zaid Al-Kazemi, has announced a preliminary squad of 20 players to take part in the training phase ahead of the regional tournament. Speaking about the team's preparations, assistant coach Zaid Al-Kazemi stated that the staff has designed a comprehensive and intensive training program that will begin immediately and continue until the tournament starts. The program will be split into two phases—domestic training in Kuwait and an overseas training camp, the details of which (location and timing) will be finalized upon approval from the General Sports Authority. Al-Kazemi emphasized that the training plan will focus on all technical, physical, and tactical elements necessary for high-level competition. He also confirmed that the final squad will be trimmed from 20 to 14 players before departure for the external training camp. He concluded by wishing the selected players the best of luck during this important period of preparation.
