Police nab 10 illegal B'deshi immigrants in separate raids

in two separate operations across the city.
According to police, a tip-off was received at Mandawali police station regarding the presence of suspected illegal immigrants in the
Dheeraj Block
area. "Acting swiftly on the input, a police team initiated an operation on April 29. During the raid, one Bangladeshi woman was apprehended. Her interrogation led to the identification and subsequent detention of five more Bangladeshi women from the
Paharganj area
," said DCP (east) Abhishek Dhania.
Preliminary investigations revealed that all six women were residing in India without valid documents for durations ranging from eight months to two years, frequently changing locations to avoid detection. Those apprehended in this operation were identified as Mim Akhtar (23) and Meena Begum (35), both from Dhaka; Sheikh Munni (36) and Taniya Khan (34) from different parts of Khulna district; Payal Sheikh (25) from Chattogram; and Sonia Akhtar (36) from Nator, northern Bangladesh.
In a separate operation on May 3, four more Bangladeshi nationals were detained from Azadpur Sabzi Mandi. "A police team acted on credible intelligence and laid a trap early in the morning, successfully apprehending the suspects. Two smartphones were recovered from them, both allegedly installed with the banned IMO app, which they were using to communicate with contacts in Bangladesh," said DCP (north west) Bhisham Singh.

The individuals arrested in this operation were identified as Mohammad Armaan alias Isha (21) and Mohammad Arif alias Shilpa (26), both from Chasara in Narayanganj district; Mohammad Jahid alias Mousam (21) from Panchwati in the same district; and Mohammad Babul alias Pakhi (40) from Tong Bazar, also in Narayanganj. Police said all four had entered India illegally with the help of agents and were using disguises and hormonal treatments to pose as members of the transgender community, helping them evade detection while residing and working in the city. All 10 individuals have been handed over to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office for deportation proceedings.
