In-demand pilates teacher Kevyn Zeller opens a new East Hampton studio
For 18 summers, pilates instructor Kevyn Zeller has been offering one-on-one classes in the Hamptons — for those lucky enough to get a time slot. 'I have a pretty devoted, solid clientele,' says Zeller, who also teaches on the Upper East Side. 'It's already starting to book up for the summer.' But starting this summer, she will offer group classes, named 'core collective sessions,' from a beautiful new studio in East Hampton. Each class can fit four people at a time, in the hopes that her private clients can now meet one another or bring along friends. 'People had to cancel pilates when they had guests in town, but now they can just bring them along,' she tells Alexa. The space, which is above Sant Ambroeus restaurant, has a 'spacious and airy feel,' Zeller notes. 'It's like a cathedral with high ceilings, lots of natural light.' All the walls are painted one earthy color so the mood feels calm and relaxing the second you walk in the door. 'It's like a private retreat,' she adds. 'The pilates I teach is very meditative, it requires a lot of focus, so this studio takes away all the distractions.' All the equipment is handcrafted with wooden frames and adobe white upholstery. Zeller believes this is the first time a group pilates class will be taught on Cadillacs: four-post structures with springs, handles, and bars that provide different exercise opportunities. 'There is so much you can do on a Cadillac to develop strength,' she said. 'So being able to incorporate these into a group class experience is really unique.' Classes start at $75 and will include Acqua Panna mineral water and gift bags for new clients packed with a unisex essential oil blend. Each class will last a full 60 minutes, with 15-minute intervals before and after classes so clients can take their time arriving and leaving. 'I really want this to be a special retreat from the chaotic world we are living in these days,' Zeller says. 'It's really a dream come true. I don't believe it entirely yet. Every time I walk into the space, I think, 'This is like if pilates was heaven on earth.''

Affordable to ride, hard to walk: Why Mumbai ranks among least walkable cities in world
There are 1.475 billion vehicles in the world and over 8.1 billion people—meaning only about 182 cars for every 1,000 people. In other words, the vast majority of people on this planet either can't drive or don't own a car. For those who rely on their feet, bicycles, or public transport to get around, walkability becomes more than just a lifestyle choice —it's a necessity. A global study conducted by Compare the Market has analysed key factors such as walking trails, rainfall, safety, bike infrastructure, and public transport to determine which cities around the world are easiest to navigate without a car. Mumbai, however, ranks among the bottom 10 — alongside Johannesburg, Manila, Bangkok, Cape Town, and Chicago. Interestingly, Mumbai scores extremely well when it comes to affordability, offering one of the cheapest public transport systems in the world at just Rs 20 per ticket—only behind Buenos Aires at Rs 13. Cairo comes third at Rs 28. Yet Mumbai struggles with walkability due to factors such as poor safety ratings, low access to car-free zones, and very high average monthly rainfall, which deters pedestrian movement, especially during monsoon. At the other end, Europe has the most number of walkable cities. Munich tops the list, followed by Milan, Warsaw, Helsinki, and Paris. Tokyo is the only non-European city in the top 10. The study found that 86 per cent of Munich's population lives within 1 km of a car-free space. A further 85 per cent of residents live within 1 km of healthcare and education facilities, and the city boasts hundreds of miles of bike trails. Stephen Zeller, General Manager of Money at Compare the Market, explains why walkability should matter to prospective homeowners: 'Looking at transport and amenities is a crucial step of assessing a potential home,' Zeller explains. 'That means looking at the public transport links, and seeing how far away your nearest stop is, what time they run to, and frequency; as well as identifying routes that you feel safe walking,' he adds. Zeller also points out that more desirable areas will generally cost more, 'which means you might need a bigger home loan than you were originally budgeting for'. 'Australian citizens and permanent residents looking to buy in Australia can use Compare the Market's home loan comparison service to get property reports with estimated values for free, as well as make use of our free borrowing power calculator to help with budget planning,' he says.

Brooklyn Nets jersey history No. 14 - Gary Zeller (1972)
Brooklyn Nets jersey history No. 14 - Gary Zeller (1972) The Brooklyn Nets have 52 jersey numbers worn by over 600 different players over the course of their history since the franchise was founded in 1967 as a charter member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), when the team was known as the "New Jersey Americans". Since then, that league has been absorbed by the NBA with the team that would later become the New York Nets and New Jersey Nets before settling on the name by which they are known today, bringing their rich player and jersey history with them to the league of today. To commemorate the players who played for the Nets over the decades wearing those 52 different jersey numbers, Nets Wire is covering the entire history of the franchise's jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. The 16th of those 52 different numbers is jersey No. 14 which has has had a total of 29 players wear the number in the history of the team. The third of those players wearing No. 14 played in the (then) New York (now, Brooklyn) Nets era, guard alum Gary Zeller. After ending his college career at Drake, Zeller was picked up with the 83rd overall selection (there were many more rounds in that era of the draft) of the 1970 NBA draft by the (then) Baltimore Bullets (now, Washington Wizards). The Topeka, Kansas native would play parts of the first two seasons of his pro career with Baltimore before he'd leave the team to join New York in the NBA in 1972. His stay with the team would span just 12 games before he'd retire from the league. During his time suiting up for the Nets, Zeller wore only jersey No. 14 and put up 1.5 points per game.
