She and John met when she was 20 and he was 34, and despite not pursuing a romantic relationship, they began an affair a number of years later. The couple had two children together, SInéad and Jack, but unfortunately Sinéad passed away from leukaemia in 1990. The couple wed in 2015, and Marian passed away aged 69 in 2020.
