King of melodious voice, he has given a number of chart-topping melodies in his long career. Besides that, his waggish silver-screen performances and eccentric lifestyle stole many hearts too. However, there were several mysterious speculations surrounding Kishore Da's quirky behaviour. In a latest interview, his son, Amit Kumar, broke silence on one such long-standing rumour, claiming that his father used to keep skulls and bones at his home. Amit Kumar reveals why his father Kishore Kumar used to keep skulls and bones at home In a conversation with Vickey Lalwani, Amit Kumar talked about one of the most talked-about rumour about Kishore Kumar that he was fond of collecting human skulls and bones, to ward off unwelcomed visitors. When asked, he clarified that it was all baseless rumours, instead they were just cultural souvenirs that his father purchased during family trip in Africa. Amit said, 'We had gone to perform in East Africa, Nairobi. He had a hobby of collecting such curios. So, on our way back, we brought them home. In fact, they are still there, preserved in the family trust.' Amit also revealed that his father had a deep admiration for African culture. From its music to traditional artifacts everything was reflected not just in his collection, but also in his musical saga. He fondly remembered that his father's response to such witty and outlandish tales were, 'Woh khud par mazak karte thay… he was like, 'Theek hai, duniya kehti mujhe pagal, main kehta hoon duniya ko pagal… bolne do pagal… achha hai, kyun na.' Kishore Kumar, who was regarded as one of the most influential singers of his time, had an estimated record of singing 2,905 songs in multiple languages. Some of his most popular songs like Tera Mastana, Mere Sapno Ki Rani, Zindagi Ek Safar and more made him a household name. In 1987, the legendary figure passed way from a heart attack at the age of 58.
