Cruise ship carrying more than 2,000 passengers docks in port
A cruise ship carrying more than 2,000 passengers has docked at Portland Port.
The AIDAsol cruise ship is a regular visitor to Dorset and arrived at the port at around 10am this morning (Saturday, February 15) from Portugal.
The cruise ship won't be staying long as it is set to depart will depart at approximately 6pm towards Hamburg in Germany.

The ship is currently on a 117 day, round-trip which began on October 23, 2024, in Hamburg and will finish at on 17 Feb, 2025 in the same location.
AIDAsol is a Sphinx-class cruise ship built at Meyer Werft in 2011 for AIDA Cruises. It is the fifth Sphinx-class AIDA line.

It sails under the Italian flag and cost approximately $420 million US Dollars to build in 2011.

The cruise ship spans across 14 decks and can carry a maximum of 2686 passengers and 609 crew members.
