Paid extras needed for "How to Rob a Bank," Amazon movie filming in Pittsburgh area

"How to Rob a Bank," a new Amazon MGM Studios movie set to film in the Pittsburgh area, is looking for paid extras. Movie Casting PGH is looking for background actors of all ages to be in "How to Rob a Bank," the latest feature film from director David Leitch — who has directed "Deadpool 2," "Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw" and "Bullet Train," among others. His latest film's cast will feature Pete Davidson, Zoë Kravitz, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Sawai and Rhenzy Feliz. Production is set to begin in the Pittsburgh area in mid-June and run through August. The background extras will portray sports fans, law enforcement officers, diner patrons, and more, Movie Casting PGH said. No experience is necessary. "We will be looking for folks who can join us for multiple days - and looking for people who could work 1-2 days here or there," the casting call said. General background actors can expect 10- to 14-hour days, with a pay of $250 for those 12 hours, plus overtime. More information about requirements and the application process can be found online. The movie is set to release in September 2026, Movie Casting PGH said. "How to Rob a Bank" is the latest film in need of paid extras in the Pittsburgh area. Extras are also needed when the Hershey biopic comes to film in Pittsburgh next month. The movie follows chocolate pioneer Milton Hershey and his wife. The main cast features Finn Wittrock and Alexandra Daddario as Milton and Catherine Hershey, respectively.

Zoë Kravitz to Direct New Sony Film HOW TO SAVE A MARRIAGE with Robert Pattinson Producing — GeekTyrant

Zoë Kravitz is gearing up for her next move behind the camera. After making waves with her directorial debut Blink Twice , Kravitz is now in talks to direct How to Save a Marriage for Sony Pictures. The film is still early in development, and the script comes from Ross Evans, who will also executive produce. Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson is stepping in as a producer through his Icki Eneo Arlo banner with partner Brighton McCloskey, alongside Geoff Shaevitz and Evan Silverberg of Entertainment 360. No word yet on whether Pattinson will appear in the film, but as of now, he's strictly on the producing side. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but insiders are hinting at a tone that echoes the dark, edgy vibes of Blink Twice , which might explain why Kravitz is being eyed to direct. Her debut film was a slick, surreal thriller starring Naomi Ackie and Channing Tatum, and it earned her a round of praise. The success of that project clearly made an impression. Sony reportedly jumped on How to Save a Marriage as soon as it hit the market last year, in a post-strike atmosphere where studios were eager to lock in buzzy, high-profile projects. This one checked a lot of boxes with an original script, proven director, A-list talent behind the scenes. Source: Deadline

Zoë Kravitz on Playing a "More Psychotic" Version of Herself in THE STUDIO - "If You Can't Make Fun of Yourself, I Think There's Something Wrong" — GeekTyrant

Zoë Kravitz has played her unhinged alter ego in the series The Studio for a few fun guest appearances. She fondly describes the character as a 'more psychotic' version of herself, and she talked about playing this 'Zoë' in a recent interview with Deadline, where she talked about first being approached for the blisteringly funny satire via a call from her agent. 'I hadn't read anything, and I also didn't even really know how many guest spots they were planning on having and who they were going to get. It was just really about loving the thing they were wanting to explore in terms of filmmaking and the industry and where we're at right now. And I thought it was really thought-provoking.' A self-described 'huge fan' of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's — who co-created the inside-baseball Hollywood series alongside Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory and Frida Perez — Kravitz was eager to take the meeting; she first appeared as an alternate of herself slyly campaigning for a Golden Globe despite a shallow veneer of humility, with impeccable line readings like, 'I'm already rich, I'm already famous, winning awards is like the only thing that's left,' and an awards speech template so meticulously choreographed that it borders on terrifying. After that, Rogen and Goldberg were just as keen to continue collaboration, rewriting the final two scripts to add her character in after working with her. 'She's so funny, she's incredible,' Rogen told Deadline in an earlier interview, adding, 'And everybody was so relieved when I sobbed like twice, which came out after we shot the episode, and it was really good, and I was like, 'Oh thank God, the whole episode makes a little more sense now.'' Given the show's long shots, everything is filmed fairly 'by the book,' Kravitz said, though there's a 'lot of conversation' before the camera begins rolling and she praised the longtime Point Grey Pictures producers for being 'incredibly collaborative' and holding steadfast to a 'super clear' vision. Kravitz went on to say: 'I would like to believe that I'm not this person that, like, desperately wants an award. But there is this really interesting thing, where, obviously, if you're campaigning for an award, in order to even kind of be nominated, you do have to participate a certain amount, which means it's something that you want, which is OK, but it's funny how people do pretend like they don't care at all when you do have to care a certain amount to even be considered. 'So I think that kind of humble game that we like to play — of course, there's elements of all of us that want to win, that want to be the best and so while I do think I was channeling hopefully a person that is a little bit more psychotic than I am, I do think that we all have parts of us that do want to win and are embarrassed to let that part be seen. And I thought it was a cool thing to really play both sides of that.' Kravitz was thrilled to return for Episodes 9 and 10, which see her buttoned-up A-Lister succumb to a truly ungodly grammage of psilocybin mushrooms thanks to Remick's ill-fated party platter of assorted drugs. The chaotic finale follows a deeply inebriated Kravitz (and Dave Franco and Bryan Cranston's Continental CEO Griffin Mill) as she is coddled and cajoled into sobering up enough to pull off an onstage presentation to tease her forthcoming 'Black Wing' project. 'Especially after knowing what you know about this version of Zoë, who's kind of a control freak in a lot of ways, it was really cool to be able to put her in a situation where she's completely out of control,' the Caught Stealing star explained. Minutes before she takes the stage, Kravitz's character is mimicking every word spoken to her and feeling like a 'skin sausage.' Despite this, she miraculously nails her presentation and heads off stage, where she gleefully exclaims, 'I'm going pee-pee,' indicating the evidence on the front of her trousers. When asked if she had any reservations about spoofing herself on screen, Kravitz was adamant: 'Oh, no. If you can't make fun of yourself, I think there's something wrong. And so I was really excited to make fun of myself, or the idea of myself, and the awards cycle, and all of that. I think it's something to laugh at and to explore — it's not just pointing and laughing.' The reason it works, Kravitz maintained, is because the lampooning of the industry — which can feel like 'the center of the universe' — is 'really done through the lens of people who love film. And so I think that is the part that you also really feel, is that this isn't just making fun of something, this is making fun of the complications around something that we all care for so deeply.' The Studio is now renewed for Season 2, and Kravitz hopes to get back into the shenanigans next year. She said of her hopeful return: 'Oh, my God, not only would I be open, but I would be very disappointed if I didn't get to [come back]. I have always really wanted to do more comedy. It's something that I really like and something that I want to get better at. I like comedy, I'm a pretty ridiculous person, so it's fun to be able to play in that space … comedy is so hard, and I think people forget that because the whole point is to make it look easy.' The season 1 finale of The Studio has now been released, and all episodes are available on Apple TV+. via: Deadline

Darren Aronofsky's Caught Stealing looks like one for the Baby Driver fans

If you got a kick out of Baby Driver, there's a very good chance you're going to be into Darren Aronofsky's upcoming black comedy / thriller, Caught Stealing. Adapted from Charlie Huston's 2005 novel of the same name, Caught Stealing tells the wild take of Hank Thompson (Austin Butler), a former high school baseball prodigy whose dreams of going pro came to an end following a career-ending injury. Though life hasn't worked out the way Hank expected, things seem to be going pretty well for him in the movie's new trailer. Hank's girlfriend Yvonne (Zoë Kravitz) loves him, he's got a solid job working as a bartender, and his eccentric neighbor Russ (Matt Smith) tends to keep to himself. But when Hank agrees to watch Russ' cat, he doesn't realize that he's putting himself at risk of dealing with some of his neighbor's shady business partners. And it isn't long before Hank finds himself having to run from and fight off members of multiple crime syndicates. Compared to the novel, Aronofsky's Caught Stealing looks like it's going to be a bit more of a high-octane thrill ride, tonally speaking. With Huston writing the film's script as well, the new adaptation probably won't veer all that far away from its source material. But we won't know until Caught Stealing hits theaters on August 29th.

THE BATMAN: PART II Gets Promising Script Update, First Draft Almost Ready — GeekTyrant

While we continue to wait for Robert Pattinson's return as Gotham's brooding protector, there's finally some good news to share. The Batman: Part II has gotten a welcome script update, and it sounds like director Matt Reeves is getting close to the finish line. As reported by TheWrap, Reeves 'has been sending pages for more than half a year' and a 'first full draft of the script is expected to be delivered by Memorial Day.' That's a promising sign for a film that fans thought slipping into development limbo. Reeves has been taking his time crafting this follow-up and he's been doing it while he's been dealing with some personal matters. The original The Batman hit theaters in March 2024 and offered a gritty, detective-driven take on the Dark Knight. Starring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle, and Paul Dano as The Riddler, the film found success with both critics and audiences. The sequel has been in development ever since it was first announced at CinemaCon in April 2022. Originally aiming for a 2026 release, but is now locked in for October 1, 2027. While that date still feels far off, the film has the potential to hit that production start window in late 2025 or early 2026. Warner Bros. hasn't shared any plot details yet, and no new cast or characters have been confirmed. That said, with the first draft nearly done, don't be surprised if more info starts to trickle out in the coming months. Until then, the Bat-signal remains lit.
