Bomba Kapit opens station for World Firefighters Day visits

KAPIT (May 5): The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) opened its station here for visits yesterday, in celebration of World Firefighters Day.
Observed every May 4, World Firefighters Day is a symbolic event meant to commemorate and appreciate the services and sacrifices rendered by firefighters around the world.
During the event at Bomba Kapit station yesterday, the firefighters welcomed the visitors, including a group from Bank Rakyat Kapit, led by the branch manager Zulhiszam Ahmad and his deputy Anis Padzil.
The meet was made even more special when the Bank Rakyat Kapit group presented cakes to the firemen.
'On behalf of Bank Rakyat Kapit branch, I would like to express our gratitude for the dedication, commitment and courage of all firemen in executing their duty and responsibility to protect peoples' property and lives during emergencies like a fire, natural disasters or even called to capture slithering reptiles and rescue pet animals,' Zulhiszam said.
