Rights group condemns torture, death of al-Jumaili in Marib

Sana'a - Saba: Al-Karama Center has strongly condemned the alleged torture and death of Abdullatif Jamil Rashid al-Jumaili in Marib province, accusing "aggression mercenaries" of the crime. According to a statement released by the center, al-Jumaili's body was discovered on a Marib street, wrapped in a blanket, displaying signs of severe torture. The center alleges that al-Jumaili had been detained in a "Political Security" prison in Marib for three months, where he was subjected to physical and psychological torture leading to his death. Al-Karama center expressed alarm at the continued reports of brutal crimes against civilians and prisoners in Marib, accusing the Saudi-Emirati aggression of responsibility. It criticized the lack of condemnation from international organizations for these "documented crimes." The center highlighted previous incidents, including the alleged torture and death of poet Rashid al-Hutam for raising anti-American slogans, and the death of prisoner Murad al-Bahri after torture and medical neglect. Al-Karama center called on international human rights organizations to investigate these incidents and hold those responsible accountable. It also urged the UN Security Council and UN agencies to take action to end the "aggression and siege" on Yemen. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print
